The line to pick up the car was very long; I waited for an hour. The staff will try to sell you insurance; just choose the one that suits your needs and don't force yourself to accept it. They will also try to sell you upgraded car models; choose the one that suits your needs.

I was a little sceptical at first looking at reviews online but the process was super smooth. Picked up the car in no time in Lisbon with their shuttle service and the drop off in Porto (one way trip) was quick as well, with the deposit being released in just a few hours. Car was great too, latest model with Carplay and super comfortable to drive.

Never disappointed with Europcar, I've been renting from them in Lisbon for years. They often have recent or even new vehicles; you just have to avoid the entry-level models which are poorly equipped, like the Citroën C3 without a reversing camera.

The car we had reserved was not available. They said they had an upgrade for 20 euros more. However, it turned out to be much more expensive, namely more than double, which I am not very happy about.
