The first Kite Festival began 45 years ago on September 10, 1978! It was started by a student from Sydney University, John, and his mates, and has eventually become one of the largest and most popular kite festivals in the world! The Wind Festival continues to offer a great day out for everyone. This event is perfect for people of all ages who want to celebrate the joy of kite flying, kite making, our environment, and enjoy the best cultural food and entertainment from around the world! Bring your own kite, or create a high-altitude creation in one of the kite making workshops. There will be demonstrations on the main stage and a full day of entertainment.
