The 2024 Kearney Bearcat Commitment to Excellence Football Camp is an essential event for high school students who are passionate about football. Taking place from May 28th to May 31st at the Kearney High School Turf Field, this non-contact camp is specifically designed for players in grades 9-12. Led by experienced high school and college coaches, participants will receive expert instruction on individual football techniques, as well as offense, defense, and special teams strategies. In addition to the comprehensive training, each camper will receive a camp t-shirt featuring the team's motto. Prior to the start of the camp, there will be an equipment check-out where helmets and shoulder pads will be distributed. More details regarding this process will be provided soon. To ensure the safety of all participants, it is required that each camper has received a medical examination within the past year and has been cleared to play football. Additionally, all campers must have a valid health insurance policy. In the event of an injury, parents or guardians give consent for appropriate medical treatment to be administered. Similarly, 6th-8th graders will also engage in skills assessments, competitions, games, and team concept introductions. Additionally, there is a 4th-8th Skills Academy program available from June 6 to June 29. This program concentrates on shooting, ball-handling, competitive games, and individual as well as team development. A T-shirt and basketball will be provided to all campers. By enrolling, parents certify that their child is medically insured and agree to bear the cost of any medical services needed due to camp participation. They also release Kearney Public Schools, JD Carson, and all camp staff from liability for any camp-related injuries.
