NASTAR, the largest public ski racing program in the world, has approved the Quicksilver racecourse for the first time this season. This is a fantastic opportunity to compete and compare your scores to friends and family, regardless of when and where you race. The racecourse will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 2:30pm until closing time, and it's free for public use. Just make sure to sign the waiver available at the start line before racing. This full-day experience offers participants a unique opportunity to see the highlights of ski patrolling from the perspective of female patrollers. From the first run of the day to the final sweep, attendees will learn about mountain safety and take part in a mini toboggan clinic while working alongside the women of the ski patrol community. Calling Women In events provide a comprehensive overview of what it's like to be a patroller at your favorite resort. Throughout the day, you'll receive expert instruction in outdoor skills used by ski patrollers, including mountain orientation, patrol landmarks, and preferred runs. Working closely with female patrollers, you'll gain valuable insights into various aspects of mountain safety and first aid (please note that you will not be participating in any actual calls or rendering aid during the event). This event is open to transwomen, cisgender women, and nonbinary skiers/riders who focus their education in women-centered spaces. Intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders are encouraged to attend. During registration, participants will be asked to identify their skill level to ensure they are placed on the most suitable team. The event is for adults ages 21 and older. The day's schedule includes registration/check-in at 7:30 am, followed by a gondola ride at 8 am to Mountain Top, where a morning meeting will take place. Throughout the day, teams will ski the mountain, covering topics such as mountain safety, radio protocols, gear caches, weather, and avalanche basics. A pizza lunch will be provided, courtesy of the Crystal Mountain Founder's Club. The afternoon will conclude with a mini toboggan clinic, free skiing, and a sweep/debrief session with a raffle. To ensure a smooth experience, remember to bring your own ski equipment, avalanche gear (optional), and any personal items you typically use on the slopes. MTN PRIDE: Pride in the Pow is an inclusive event held at Crystal Mountain Resort in Enumclaw, Washington. This exciting celebration aims to honor and support the LGBTQIA+ community, creating a safe and welcoming space for adventure. Crystal Mountain is proud to partner with Seattle Pride, Queer Mountainers, and QPOC Hikers to promote diversity, inclusivity, and outdoor experiences for individuals of all backgrounds, genders, and sexualities. The event schedule is packed with a variety of activities and entertainment. On Friday, March 15, participants can join the House Wine Snowshoe tour, which includes a wine tasting and dinner. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be Meet & Ski ride groups available for all skill levels, allowing attendees to connect with others and explore the mountain together. Beginner group lessons will also be offered, providing a supportive and fun environment for those new to skiing or snowboarding.
