About the book:
From the beloved author of
Four Weekends and a Funeral
, a nostalgic, heartwarming romance about a Type-A woman who road trips through the Minnesotan woods with her non-committal childhood best friend . . . only for their long-suppressed sparks to start flying.
Charley Beekman is thriving. Is she financially strapped, languishing in her legal career, and very likely the youngest divorcee at the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on a Friday night? Yes. But, now that she's accepted the flaws inherent in all romantic relationships, she finally has life all figured out! She's definitely due for an upswing.
So when her free-spirited sister announces her plan to elope with her messy on-again-off-again childhood sweetheart, Charley knows she has to stop the wedding, even if it means road-tripping into the northern woods of Minnesota in a camper van with her childhood best friend, Ethan, who’s as gorgeous as he is chronically unreliable.
But when their cozy journey ignites a spark she's tried to ignore for years, Charley tries to write off her feelings as fleeting. Because after failing at marriage so spectacularly with the most responsible man she's ever known, Charley definitely shouldn't risk it all for her non-committal, nomadic, musician best friend . . . right?

About the authors:

is the author of

and
Anywhere With You
, and is a prototypical Midwesterner who routinely apologizes to inanimate objects when she bumps into them. Alexandra Vasti
is a British literature professor by day and
USA Today
bestselling romance writer by night. After finishing her PhD at Columbia University, she moved to New Orleans with her family. Her books have been featured in
The New York Times,

.
Naina Kumar
is the bestselling author of
Say You’ll Be Mine
and
Flirting With Disaster
. She lives in Texas, close to her family, whose antics provide endless inspiration. When she’s not writing, she enjoys taking her rowdy rescue dog on walks, rewatching

on a loop, and shopping at H-E-B.

The Fallen & the Kiss of Dusk.
Mische made the ultimate sacrifice to save those she loves – and plunged the world into an eternal night. Now, imprisoned by the gods and obsessed with revenge, Asar is desperate to find her again.
When a goddess offers them a final path to redemption – and back to each other – Asar and Mische embark on an extraordinary mission. Together, they must seize the power of the god of death so Asar may do the impossible: ascend to true divinity.
Their journey will take them through mortal and immortal realms, alongside both old friends and ruthless enemies. But as the underworld teeters on the brink of collapse and the gods prepare for a war, Asar and Mische must decide what they are willing to sacrifice for the power to defy death. In a game of vengeful gods and ancient betrayals, there are some debts that even love may not be able to repay.

More Kinds of Awesome: Untold Stories by and for Adoptees | Springboard for the Arts
May 3, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
Saint Paul
The Network of Politicized Adoptees (NPA) is thrilled to present the next installment of our signature storytelling event, “More Kinds of Awesome,” (MKOA). MKOA explores the intersections of adoptee and cultural communities, lived experiences, and our shared fight for justice, equity, and liberation, by uplifting the voices of adoptees who may otherwise not have a platform to share their unique experiences and perspectives. This public event allows adoptees and non-adoptees to share space and learn from our adoptee storytellers' unique experiences. Adoptees, like many other cultural communities, are not a monolithic group and NPA strives to curate a space for learning and healing as a collective.
NPA is committed to offering this event with ASL interpretation.
OUR STORYTELLERS:
Elizabeth Brenes
Siuho Gong
Sharissa Mickelson
Cecilia E. Ortiz
Mags Scanlon
Storyteller bios will be shared via NPA's social media and during the event.
EVENT HOSTS:
Network of Politicized Adoptees
(NPA)’s mission is to strengthen, cultivate, and improve the lives of adoptees by building community power. Through solution-focused action, we advance adoptee justice by telling our own stories and collectively working towards systemic change. NPA’s vision is for all adoptees to feel empowered and have access to history, knowledge, fair policy, records, and positive health and relationships.
