From November 15, 2024 to February 28, 2025, one of the most important and exceptional artistic events of the Southern country will be held: the fifteenth edition of the Havana Biennial. The most attractive and unique thing about the Havana Biennial is its ability to use the city itself as a backdrop, although the visual proposals of traditional spaces such as art galleries, studios or museums are widely varied. Artists are invited to create together in the community, as plans are made to offer profitable exchange experiences and to extend them to other cities in the country. With the idea of ​​"Shared Vision" as its conceptual platform, the 15th Biennial is designed as an emotional network dedicated to respecting differences and valuing knowledge and experiences that escape hegemonic models. As Nelson Ramírez de Arellano, the Wifredo Lam Center and director of the event, explained to the press, the plot of the 15th Biennial will unfold from three conceptual cores: mediation, collaboration and transdisciplinarity. We want artists not only to live the Cuban experience, but also to create with those who live in the community, its director added. The Havana Biennial is organized on the basis of a research and curatorial process, where all participants are selected according to certain parameters, such as the submission of a thematic concept to a theme of reflection. On November 16th, 2024 Hominidae Fitness, Lotus Muay Thai, and USEACA will be hosting a SANCTIONED Muay Thai/Kickboxing Fight Night. This will be our sixth sanctioned Muay Thai Fight Night in Spokane/Kootenai County. This event will be hosted in Bay 1 of the Spokane County Fairgrounds. There will be a beer garden along with food. Muay Thai (Thai boxing) is a martial art and combat sport, which dates back to the 13th century. Known as the “Art of 8 limbs, it incorporates strikes using the fists, knees, shins and elbow as well as an element of grappling. We hope to educate, inspire, and showcase Muay Thai/Kickboxing to the thousands of individuals from Spokane AND Kootenai County and surrounding communities.
