An Intro to Cold Water Swimming - Winter Warmer Session Three | Ganavan Sands
Sports & Fitness
An Intro to Cold Water Swimming - Winter Warmer Session Three is an event that aims to help individuals overcome their hesitation and take the plunge into the invigorating world of cold water swimming. Led by experienced open water guide Jo, this session provides an opportunity to embrace the numerous health benefits associated with this activity. As part of Atlantis' Winter Warmer Programme, funded by the Connecting Communities Collective, this event is designed for both beginners and those who need a little push to rekindle their passion for open water swimming. Jo will offer valuable tips and information to boost your confidence before entering the water. However, please note that there is no pressure to swim on the day, and considering the time of the year, the swimming duration will be limited. The primary goal is to allow participants to experience the mental and physical health benefits of cold water exposure. So, even if you're uncertain, we encourage you to join us and give it a try! After the invigorating dip, participants will have ample time to change clothes, as Jo will provide a portable changing room. To warm you up, hot drinks and sweet treats will be available. It's important to mention that this session is suitable for individuals who are able to swim. In order to ensure everyone's safety, a health questionnaire and waiver will be required upon booking. If you have any medical conditions listed in the form, a GP letter may be necessary for consent to enter cold water. If you have any questions or need advice on what equipment to bring, feel free to contact Jo at info@wildbathing.co.uk. Additionally, if you require a wetsuit, please indicate this in the booking form, and we will do our best to provide one through Wild Bathing or Adventure Oban's Adventure Library. As a funded activity, we are pleased to offer tickets at a 'pay what you can' rate, with suggested prices that have been subsidized. Join us at Ganavan Sands, Oban, PA34 5TB on February 2, 2024, for this unique opportunity to explore the world of cold water swimming and embrace its remarkable benefits.
