Asia-Europe Cultural Festival 2026 | Utrecht
Celebration
The Asia-Europe Arts Festival 2026 (AECFest 2026) opened in Hong Kong on April 23, 2026. The main events will be held in Utrecht, Netherlands, from May 14 to 23, 2026, followed by a closing ceremony in Singapore on June 19. In addition, the festival will feature residency programs throughout the year. These activities collectively demonstrate the Asia-Europe Arts Foundation (ASEF)'s ongoing commitment to long-term artistic exchange and cooperation between Asia and Europe. The opening performance, a collaboration with Tai Kwun Arts Centre, is part of its annual performing arts program, "Spotlight." It is a captivating theatrical production that invites audiences to experience the subtle boundaries between perception and reality. The first-ever main exhibition in the Netherlands, held in Utrecht, marks another significant step forward in the development of AECFest as a platform for cultural exchange and artistic cooperation between Asia and Europe. This year's festival, presented in collaboration with the SPRING Performing Arts Festival, further solidifies the Asia-Europe Arts Festival Foundation's (ASEF) commitment to fostering dialogue through contemporary art practices. As a "festival within a festival," AEFF focuses on Asia-Europe artistic exchange within the overall SPRING program. Audiences will enjoy curated performances, films, installations, video art, and interdisciplinary works from artists across Asia and Europe.
