Experience three days filled with dancing and creating with 50+ dancers or other dance groups at the "Dansen en co-creëren met 50+-dansers" event. Join experienced dance teachers Suzanne Demesmaeker and Pat Van Lantschoot as they invite you into their dance kitchen. With years of experience in building dance sessions, series, performances, and workshops, specifically for those aged 50 and above, Suzanne and Pat will share their expertise and tips to enhance your own practice. Explore how to generate dance material from your participants based on a theme with a societal approach. Learn how to facilitate improvisation and work towards creating a dance piece. Discover techniques for editing and reworking dance fragments into an artistic whole.
The event consists of two parts. In the first part, you will gain inspiration for improvisation, creation, and session building. The teachers will discuss and explain their working methods. Then, you will receive practical tools to implement and have the opportunity for exchanging ideas. Specific applications and techniques for working with an older audience and preparing for a performance will be provided.
Suzanne Demesmaeker and Pat Van Lantschoot have been collaborating for 10 years on the "Dochters van Eva" dance project for women aged 50 and above. Their focus is not on technique or flexibility but on creativity and relaxed togetherness, where each woman is respected for who she is. The project creates a social context where women can feel at home, expand their body's possibilities, experience the joy of dance, and unleash their creativity. Suzanne has 30 years of experience as a dance teacher, while Pat has over 40 years of experience as a dance teacher and trainer in improvisation and dance therapy.
The event will take place on February 24th, 2024, from 10 am to 4 pm, and on March 23rd and 24th, 2024, also from 10 am to 4 pm, at Het Paleis in Antwerpen. The event will be conducted in Dutch. The ticket price is €140, with a discounted rate of €120 for those under 26, over 65, individuals with a replacement income, or those with an increased health insurance subsidy. Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of dance and co-creation with experienced dancers and teachers.
