Cultural Experiences
NOTE: This workshop is being held at Naturally Useful, Marcassie Farm, Rafford, IV36 2RH as the TTF centre is now closed. Our popular plant propagation workshop is back for this year. Suitable for newcomers and returning participants we will look at different plants and propagation techniques to suit the season. This workshop is suitable for experienced gardeners or those just starting out. There will be hands on activities with plenty of opportunity to share experiences and learn from each other. The plants we propagate will be available for you to take home. Topics include taking cuttings (e.g. softwood, semi-ripe) and dividing perennial plants, as well as sowing winter/perennial veg and biennials. Green Shoots project workers Martin and Barney will facilitate this workshop. We'll do a range of activities together, relevant to the current stage of our growing season. There will be a tea break and questions and discussion welcome throughout. We'll be using the facilites and lovely site at our friends Naturally Useful in Rafford. We'll be based indoors but spending the majority of the time outside and in covered growing spaces doing activities (weather permitting). The site is relatively large. Parking for those with mobility issues will be just inside Naturally Useful's 'field' with further parking available very close by in Marcassie Farm's main overflow parking. Wear sturdy shoes and bring clothing for all weathers. Numbers are limited and early booking is advised. The workshop is aimed at adults alongside keen growers or foodies aged 15+. This workshop is made possible through the kind assistance of the Newbold Legacy Trust. You will be able to leave a donation on the day towards general project running costs if you so wish. Transition Town Forres's Green Shoots project works to raise awareness and build enthusiasm and skills around food growing and composting and their links to supporting personal health and biodiversity and tackling climate change. While we generally work with children, families and schools, these monthly themed workshops are an opportunity to reach further people in the community with our work, around a wide range of related topics. About Natasha Natura Natasha is a passionate artist and dancer with a deep focus on earth-body connection and alignment with the powerful, abundant creative life-force. Through a process of rewilding, deep embodiment, investigative martyrdom and internal reflection, Natasha discovers, explores, embodies and shares all layers of her human experience. Natasha trained in Trauma-Informed Somatic Yoga with María Kiekari in 2022 and has since built upon her experience through integrating practices and wisdom from Jacqueline Fay, Annu Tara and Natalie Duclunder, combined her own embodied wisdom, as a rewilding woman. While homeless, Natasha poured her entire focus into her songwriting and teaching herself the guitar. Her natural aptitude for song-writing has exceeded expectations time and time again, each time revealing more of her innate capacity to inspire liberation through her dedicated focus and insatiable drive for expression. Standing for freedom and the natural world, Natasha acts as a mirror of our own individual power on this planet, shining as a bright beacon of change amongst old systems and collapsing structures. Natasha holds a widely varied voice that communicates such depth of emotionality - an incredibly strong presence that radiates and penetrates the heart, body and soul . Read more about Natasha's work at https://natashanatura.com/ About Lorenz Jai Inder Lorenz Jai Inder is a musician, holistic therapist and healer from Germany living in Findhorn, Scotland, since 2010. He sees the world always afresh, no theory, system or belief as set in stone. He gives himself to every moment and doesn’t shy back from challenges life presents since he has sufficiently learned that life is for him and all situations and beings are but mirrors of himself holding a piece of the puzzle to become whole again. On his journey he employed and learned many methods to support him to always come back to love and life. He gained reliable tools of self-help and self-healing through certified training programs like body-centered Biodynamic Psychology, Kundalini Yoga, Naam Yoga, Harmonyum®-Healing (1+2+3) and a wide range of miscellaneous methods like Advanced Interspecies Communication, Reiki (1+2), The Way of Council, Mankind Project, Shamanic Inner Journeys and FORUM, all practices eliciting experiences of true communion and community, recognizing that each voice needs to be heard, that every being has a gift, a story to share, a piece of the whole to contribute. In this spirit he walks the earth offering workshops and conscious spaces, musical jams and concerts to gratefully pass on to those who resonate with what works for him. About Ria Bronte Ria Bronte is a Glasgow based poet, musician & visual artist. Her work digs into many facets - the power of sensuality, spirituality, the re-emergence of yin qualities, familial and religious abuse, Scottish culture, embodiment, authentic relating and nature-drawing from many inspiring and challenging deep dives into the unconscious. It's been said of her work “she has a mouth endowed with the power to dismember the defences of a whole room—before putting us back together again, filled with more awe and compassion than before.” Information Source: Natasha Natura | eventbrite
