Our horticulturist will give an introduction into our cut flower patch before handing you over to our local florist ‘Flowers by Isla’. Using seasonal sustainable cut flowers from our very own farm, Isla will teach you in this beginner friendly workshop how to condition your flowers for longevity, look at colour & texture matches and assist you with building your bouquet. As well as learning the best techniques and methods to cutting flowers. “It was lovely to cut your own flowers from a fabulous range of flowers grown on the farm. We then were shown how to arrange them and given great tips on how to make the arrangements last, then best of all we got to take them home. We were also treated to homemade scones and jam which were delicious. The structured program offers a safe and supportive environment for children who are learning to ride or seeking to boost their confidence on two wheels. Supervised by qualified cycling coaches, the sessions include engaging warm-up activities and games within a secure, car-free space. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle, snack, bike, and helmet. In case a child lacks access to a bicycle, prior arrangements can be made. The Emergency First Aid at Work course scheduled for Saturday, 22 June 2024, in Bathgate is a six-hour program designed for individuals seeking to enhance their understanding of emergency procedures and obtain a recognized qualification or re-qualification in first aid. Limited to a maximum of 12 participants, the course requires a minimum of 6 attendees to proceed. It is essential that participants feeling unwell or showing symptoms of Covid-19 on the day of the course refrain from attending. Prospective attendees are advised to verify with their NGB whether this course aligns with their specific requirements. The minimum age for participation is 16. Taking place on the second day of Scottish Women & Girls In Sport Week, Scottish Cycling are excited to be joined by double Paralympic champion Jenny Holl, fresh from her success in Paris, to launch Scottish Cycling's new Women & Girls strategy. Our new strategy will heighten our focus on increasing the number of fun, inclusive and exciting opportunities for women & girls to both participate and progress within our sport. Female participation in cycling is on the up, but we’re not happy with the current rate of progress, and so will use this strategy to make a real step change. During the launch event we'll host a Q&A session with Jenny to hear about her success at the Paralympics in Paris and her journey through the sport.
