PD Day Camp (CBE) - September 29th Calling all animal enthusiasts in grades 1-6! Calgary Humane Society Day Camps are a place where kids can connect with animals. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for children to interact and learn about the animals that share our world in fun and engaging ways! An enthusiastic team of instructors and friendly animal visitors give your child an enriching experience filled with fun activities, crafts and some hands-on animal encounters. As they have fun, campers learn respect, compassion, and how to provide a lifetime of care for companion animals. Activities are age and developmentally appropriate. For those campers wishing to attend multiple days of camp, we change the activites each PD day camp, ensuring diverse experiences. Campers will learn about animal characteristics, behavior, proper pet care as well as having two (or more!) animal interactions during the day. Helpful information: When is the PD Day Camp? This camp runs on Mon day September 29th from 9:00am-4:00pm, when the CBE schools have a non-instructional day. (Please ensure before booking that your childs school is off on the day(s) you book). There is no before or after care. Drop off will begin at 9:00am, and campers must be picked up no later than 4:00pm. If you are running late please phone (403) 205-4455 ext. 6544 to speak with one of our Humane Educators. What is the cost? Calgary Humane Scoiety's PD day camps are $70 for a full day of fun and excitement! If you would like to make a donation to our camp subsidy fund, you may include it with your registration. This fund provides a camp opportunity for children from lower income families. Cancellation Policy: Camp fees are non-refundable however fees may be transferable. Please contact the Humane Education Department if your child is registered in camp but unable to attend. May my child attend if they have allergies? If you’re child’s allergies are minor, controlled by medication and you’ve consulted your child’s physician, please sign up! Children will be spending limited amounts of time in the animal areas in the shelter and time outside as the weather permits. Please note, we are NOT a peanut free facility. Please consult with out Humane Education team for more info about peanuts and food allergies. What is the best way to sign up for camp? Registrations are processed on a first come, first served basis, online, through Eventbrite only. Your registration and payment must BOTH be completed before you are officially registered in the camp. If you are unable to complete your registration for any reason, please call or email us for assistance. We cannot hold your child’s space in a camp unless they are fully registered. If camp registration is full, you may add your name to the waitlist, and you will be contacted by e-mail if a spot on the waitlist becomes available. Once your registration is processed, a confirmation of enrollment will be e-mailed. Release forms, directions, and other pertinent information are included in the email. Signed release forms must be completed and received on the morning of camp. Children may not attend camp without completed forms. Where does the program take place? Camp takes place at the Calgary Humane Society – 4455 110 Ave SE, Calgary, Alberta Parking information as well as drop off and pick up procedures will accompany confirmation of registration. We use both indoor classrooms and outdoor learning areas throughout our facility. How is the camp organized? Camp size is limited to 12 children and is led by a trained education facilitator and/or camp leader and volunteer assistants. Children in grades 1-6 will all be placed in the same group. All children will need to bring a lunch as well as 2 light snacks and a bottle of water to camp. Children will be provided with the opportunity to eat a small snack or enjoy a drink at both mid-morning and mid-afternoon. If your child’s medical condition requires them to eat or drink at certain times please alert our camp staff prior to your child’s camp day. The Calgary Humane Society is NOT a peanut-free facility however we do request that parents avoid packing peanut products for the safety of all of our campers. Will my child spend most of the day working directly with animals? Everything we do at camp is aimed at teaching children about animal care, handling, and welfare. We strive to give our campers an opportunity to interact with several animals each day. However, we are an open-admissions animal shelter which cares for all animals including some that may be sick, injured, or have behavioural issues. Our ability to have kids interact with animals relies entirely on the types of animals who are in residence during the camp. Our two top priorities are to provide our campers with a safe experience and to prevent our resident animals from any undue stress. Some animals simply cannot handle the attention of a large group of children, and we endeavor to teach the children to respect the needs of each individual animal. That being said, when a gentle bunny, or a kid-loving dog, or playful bunch of kittens comes through the shelter, the camp kids are often given the opportunity to interact with them. Please note: Activities are age specific. Animal interaction is dependent upon animal health on a day-to-day basis. We cannot guarantee specified types or amount of animal visits. We also do not garantee any petting, but will aim to choose animal visitors who are open to pets. For more information regarding camp themes and other frequently asked questions, please visit our website: www.calgaryhumane.ca/camps Information Source: Calgary Humane Society | eventbrite

The Fulfillment Framework: Quarterly Planning for a Fulfilled Life & Career This 2-hour hands-on event is designed to help you do more than just set goals—you’ll leave with a clear, actionable roadmap for Oct 1 – Dec 31, 2025. Together, we’ll align both your personal and professional goals, create the systems to achieve them, and break them down into monthly, weekly, and daily steps. The result? A plan that gives you balance, progress you can actually see, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing you’re on track. I know firsthand how frustrating traditional goal-setting can be. For years, I set annual goals only to look back at the end of the year and realize most of them were untouched. Everything shifted when I stopped forcing myself into a once-a-year plan and started quarterly planning that integrated both my personal and professional life. This wasn’t just about productivity—it was about intentionality. Getting crystal clear on what truly mattered to me, how I wanted to feel, and the systems that would carry me there. That process changed everything for me, and now I want to share it with you. Join me for this quarterly planning session and learn how to design your next 90 days with purpose, clarity, and balance. Because real success isn’t about chasing more—it’s about building a life and career that feel meaningful every single day. Information Source: Jennifer Keable | eventbrite

Generation Women x Canadian Women's Foundation SPECIAL EVENT - Oct 2, 2025 | The Hemingway Room

Calgary
Cultural Experiences
This special event, a collaboration between Generation Women Canada and the Canadian Women’s Foundation, lands in Calgary to celebrate a shared vision: a future where every woman, girl, and gender-diverse person has the power, safety, support, and rights to thrive—today and tomorrow. Generation Women blends a lively literary salon with the tradition of handing down wisdom from community elders. Six storytellers representing six generations share an original, true story on a theme. Of those performers, one is in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s+. Our diverse line-ups will make you laugh, cry, and reflect on the cycle of life. Alongside cis women, we cast all gender expressions including non-binary folk and trans women. Canadian Women’s Foundation: The Canadian Women’s Foundation is Canada’s public foundation for gender justice and equality. We advance this by growing support for grassroots feminist action, partnering with communities and organizations to improve conditions, and building diverse leadership and knowledge for sustainable change. Since 1991, our generous donors and supporters have contributed more than $260 million to fund over 3,300 life-transforming programs throughout Canada. Our theme: YOU GET ME: STORIES OF FINDING YOUR PEOPLE We’re kicking off Generation Women Calgary with a truth we know in our bones: it takes a village. Not just to raise a child—but to build a life, recover from heartbreak, launch a dream, or survive the chaos of everyday existence. Our storytellers are sharing the stories of the people who became their village—the chosen families, unlikely friendships, ride-or-dies, and soul-saving group chats that held them up when it mattered. Sometimes they found them by accident. Sometimes they created them from scratch. But always, these communities became more than just backup—they became belonging. This is a night for anyone who’s ever found strength in numbers—and for those still searching, a reminder that your people might be closer than you think. General admission. All ages are welcome, though please note some content may contain subject matter more suitable for mature audiences. Bar and snacks for purchase. Pop-up marketplace supporting small business. Visit us at www.generationwomen.ca to see our performer line up.
