Experience the eco-creative art of turning used fabrics into stunning rug or wallhanging masterpieces at The Art of Rag Rug Making workshop. This engaging workshop will teach you the techniques of creating contemporary rag rugs using traditional methods. No prior experience is required, making it accessible to all skill levels. All materials and equipment will be provided, including a selection of pre-loved clothing in case you don't bring your own. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to purchase specialist tools and materials if you wish to continue this environmentally-friendly craft at home.
To participate, please bring three to four items of unwanted clothing. Most fabrics can be used, so feel free to source them from friends, family, local thrift shops, or your community Buy Nothing group. Choose colors that you love or colors that complement each other to create a unique rug or wallhanging. The possibilities are endless with options such as whites, yellows, greens, blues, oranges, reds, pinks, purples, mixed pastels, mixed brights, whites, greys, blacks, or complimentary colors that contrast well.
