These lessons are for people who want to learn to ride a bike in a traffic free environment. With all equipment provided, our experienced instructor will guide you step by step, from getting on and off the bike to building up your balance and your confidence. The instructor will work with you to assess your needs and to get you pedalling in a friendly, stress-free manner, at your pace. The lessons are delivered in a traffic-free area of the car park in front of Victoria Hall. We meet at the cycle store behind the leisure centre, accessed via the carpark near the blue swimming slide. You can attend as many sessions as you like, but places are limited usually to 6, so please book. If you decide you can't attend a session you have booked - please cancel it as soon as possible (ideally via Eventbrite - or drop us an e-mail if you can't do it yourself). Fall Bachata Project for Ladies (Payment includes 4 classes) Read the details below. This project is for beginner dancers. No previous experience required. During these 4 classes, you will learn weight transfer, basic steps, turns, body movement, hand styling, and a beautiful Bachata routine. Maria Loizidou’s exhibition unfolds across two venues, as a collaboration between The Hellenic Centre and the Freud Museum, London. Maria Loizidou’s new, commissioned work The Place I Am Not, is a series of site-specific works that focus on the idea of ‘place’ as a protective shell for human beings. The exhibition unfolds across two venues, as a collaboration between The Hellenic Centre and the Freud Museum, London. The artist focuses her attention on the concept of ‘place’ as a protective shell for human beings. She connects The Hellenic Centre, housed at a former Swedish gymnasium and hospital, with the Freud Museum, the house of Sigmund Freud in London, through their function as places of both protection and nurture for the mind and body. Loizidou explores the role of these places in preserving multiple identities, including those of diaspora communities, taking into consideration that Freud himself was an immigrant and the Hellenic Centre was originally founded to unite the Hellenic diaspora in the UK. The exhibition is made possible with the support of NEON Organization for Culture and Development. From exploring the roots of the Arsacid dynasty to the evolution of visual expression during Sasanian rule, a diverse panel of international experts will examine how Parthian art intertwined with Hellenistic Asian and Roman artistic conventions. Delving into various mediums like sculpture, coins, and luxury artworks, the workshop will use cutting-edge research and recent findings to shed new light on longstanding inquiries, such as the coherence of Parthian art as a distinct phenomenon. The event, generously funded by Richard Beleson in tribute to Vesta Sarkhosh Curtis, is part of CARC's #AncientArtConnections initiative and will take place on October 3rd and 4th, 2024, offering free admission to all interested participants.

Be Fit, Be Active & Be Healthy come and join the party. Zumba Gold & DAYOP (Dance at your own pace). A fun way to get fit! Join in on this invigorating dance and fitness session that provides modified, easy to follow, low-impact moves. FREE Zumba Gold activity is on every Thursday 8-9 am at Wynnum Municipal Hall until 19th Oct 2023. The venue will then move to Wynnum Community Centre - 105 Florence Street, Wynnum from 26th October 2023 until 13th June 2024 due to renovation taking place.Everyone is welcome, however, booking is required due to limited space and social distancing applied.
