The Paranormal Investigation Of The Union Club | Union Club

Aug 9, 2025 (UTC-3)
Saint John
Cultural Experiences
Join us for our second public paranormal investigation at the legendary Union Club, one of Saint John’s most iconic historic buildings, constructed in 1884. Last time, we uncovered some chilling activity — we were mysteriously locked out of rooms, someone’s hair was pulled by an unseen force, and our spirit boxes lit up with compelling responses all night long. This time, you’ll have the chance to experience it for yourself. Guests will get hands-on with professional paranormal investigation equipment, including EMF detectors, spirit boxes, and more, as we explore the dark corners and hidden halls of this Victorian-era club. Whether you’re a seasoned ghost hunter or a curious skeptic, this is your chance to step into the unknown and see what lingers within the walls of the Union Club. Spaces are limited — don’t miss your opportunity to investigate one of Saint John’s most haunted locations. Information Source: Antler Entertainment | eventbrite

In celebration of L'Arche Saint John's 20th anniversary, we are pleased to announce that planning is underway for Building Community, our annual gala fundraising event, taking place on Sept. 10, 2025, with Honourable Graydon Nicholas, a Wolastoqey Elder, lawyer, judge, and advocate for Indigenous rights and reconciliation, and emcee Michael Sadavoy on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025 at Delta Hotels by Marriott Saint John. Reception begins at 5 p.m. and three-course dinner at 6 p.m. A silent auction will be featured. Tickets are $140 each or a table of 10 for $1,300. More details As L’Arche Saint John seeks to grow its inclusive mission in support of adults with intellectual disabilities, we invite you to join us. This very special evening will feature an opportunity to hear more about the Honourable Graydon Nicholas' contributions and lasting impact. Graydon is a Wolastoqey Elder, lawyer, and judge from Tobique First Nation, best known as the first Indigenous person in Atlantic Canada to earn a law degree. He became New Brunswick’s first Indigenous provincial court judge in 1991 and later served as its first Indigenous Lieutenant Governor. A lifelong advocate for Indigenous rights and reconciliation, he continues to inspire future leaders. Our emcee for the evening is Michael Sadavoy. Michael is the Director of Membership and Business Support at the Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce. With decades of experience in media, sales, marketing, and broadcast communications, he brings a strong focus on connection, community, and strategic partnership to all that he does. Well-known local artist Lana Langille will be creating a live painting during the evening to be put up for auction at the gala dinner. A silent auction will be featured. An annual gala event in support of L’Arche Saint John, Building Community attracts a sold-out audience of more than 400 people from the business, government and non-profit communities in the region and across New Brunswick. We hope you’ll join us for another spectacular evening. To request an invoice, email us at info@larchesaintjohn.org. If you have questions, please contact Wayne Cooper at (506) 636-0615. Accessibility note: The Delta has a wheelchair accessible entrance via the parking garage on King St with elevator access up to the mezzanine level. There will be an accessible and gender neutral bathroom available. ASL interpreters will be present at the event. Please indicate if you would benefit from ASL by answering the questions in the checkout process, or by emailing info@larchesaintjohn.org. Information Source: L'Arche Saint John | eventbrite

PROXIMITY Terry Hatty has lived a life in music, entertaining audiences around Canada and the U.S. for decades. Now that he has returned to his home town, he adds his distinctive voice to a seasoned group of Saint John musicians - Dave Phillips on drums, John Pottle on bass, Huey Lord on keyboards, and Doug Boyer on guitar and sax. PROXIMITY have been busy selecting songs to perform for the fun of it. These include originals that reach back to Terry’s live and recorded work with Ram in the late 1970’s. Other tunes written for his 2008 CD "Dream Dogs" which was recorded in Toronto are featured in these sets. Lately, John and Terry are writing together and the results have been brought to life with the help of this talented crew, who are well known to Saint John audiences. Pieces by other artists are carefully chosen - for their uniqueness, their story, their spirit - songs that move us. Doors open at 6:30pm Cash bar. One miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the deceased rise from their graves, yet appear and act unchanged. And now it is up to Officer and single mother Dana Cypress to solve a murder case where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect. Hemmings Films and our partners at Blue Ice Pictures are thrilled to invite you to a free screening of the first two episodes of REVIVAL at the beautiful theatre at the Centre Communautaire Samuel-de-Champlain in Millidgeville. If you were a crew member, a cast member, or a background actor, PLEASE be our guests and let us honour you! If you helped with renting your location or helped our production in any way, PLEASE be our guests! If you are a supporter of bringing more television film opportunities to the province of New Brunswick, PLEASE be our guest! We will also host a brief Q&A after the episodes. The fine folx at ARCf will also have a cash bar open through the evening! Our production office and studio were in the heart of Waterloo Village. That is why we want to give back to that community through United Way's $1M Pledge. Though the screening is free, for those who would like to join us, you can donate here on Eventbrite. 100% of donations will go to United Way to support youth academic success, including BGC and the TRC (Teen Resource Center), both in Waterloo village. There is no pressure to donate. NOTE: Though this is open to all ages, some scenes could be scary to some. Use discretion when deciding to bring little ones. Fans under the age of 18 should come with an adult. Information Source: Greg Hemmings | eventbrite

Absolute Losers is a rock trio from Charlottetown, PEI. The band made a bold entrance with their post-punk leaning debut, At The Mall. The band’s next chapter sees them embracing their knack for sharp, straight-to-the-point pop songwriting—all without losing the raw edge that’s made them stand out. (@absolute_losers_) Sophie Noel (fka Magnolia) is interested in writing where the mundane and intangible intersect, finding meaning in isolating potent moments of relatability between the two. Cartwheeling between indie folk, art rock, and ’90s grunge lite, their music has been described as "similar to Cate le Bon but more accessible". (@srophie) Zach Pelletier, a Fredericton-based musician, blends post-punk and slacker rock with a distinct "yucky charm". His guitar-driven sound embraces rough edges and out-of-place textures, creating a raw, offbeat energy. Known for his work in alt-rock band Dad Patrol, Zach is set to release his first solo record Yucky Charm later this year. (@zacharypelletier) Information Source: Wasted Day Brewery | eventbrite

Join us for our second meeting of 2025 as we come together for an inspiring evening of giving, community, and celebration. At our last few gatherings, Brittany encouraged each member to bring along someone new to experience the power of collective giving firsthand and we have seen some wonderful new members join us. This is the perfect opportunity to introduce a friend, colleague, or family member to 100 Women Who Care Greater Saint John. How It Works for Guests: • Guests are welcome to register and donate $100 for this one meeting. • This one-time contribution allows them to experience what it’s like to be part of 100 Women Who Care Greater Saint John. • While there’s no obligation to join, we hope they’ll be inspired to become members after seeing the difference we make together! Our Goal: As we start off the year, we’re aiming to raise $100,000 in 2025 with our “ 100 for 100,000” initiative. With each member’s $100 donation—and the added support of new guests—we’re excited to make this vision a reality. Our event will get underway at 5:30 pm in the Trinity Royal Room at the Delta by Marriott Hotel with the meeting commencing at 5:40 pm. The venue and the bar will be open for 30 minutes before for networking. As usual, the meeting will begin with a brief welcome, followed by three 5-minute presentations from the randomly drawn charities. Following their presentations, you will then vote for the charity of your choice. Ballots will be counted, and the winning charity will be announced there and then. There will not be a formal registration process or desk. We are very grateful for Michelle Pellerin, Vanessa Bouvette and their colleagues at the Delta by Marriott Hotel for covering the meeting room rental and associated costs of our space tonight. This meeting will be in person only. A huge thanks to Kelly Evans and Trisha Erb from the Community Foundation of Greater Saint John for sponsoring our AV needs, for streamlining our gifting process, and at the same time, making it more secure. We are also very grateful to Lisa, Debbie and the Dantech team for taking care of all our printing needs, including our ballots and big cheques. We look forward to seeing you! Thank you. Local Women.
