Established more than a decade ago by musician Tom Cronin, the Tyneside Mandolin Orchestra is a community of individuals united by their passion for the mandolin. Showcasing over 20 mandolins along with other fretted instruments and even a mandolin bass, this ensemble performs a diverse repertoire, including folk, jazz, and rock instrumentals and songs. They perform regularly across the north east and their home city of Newcastle Upon Tyne, with a hope to keep the long tradition of community mandolin orchestra's alive. The Ouseburn Folk Choir, under the direction of Janice Burns, was born out of a deep passion for folk music and harmony singing. Based in the vibrant Ouseburn area of Newcastle upon Tyne, the choir regularly performs both locally and further afield, sharing their love for traditional melodies and rich vocal harmonies. Celebrate the Newcastle Upon Tyne GAA - October Family Fun Day at NUCASTLE Foundation on October 27, 2024. Attendees of this year's Gaelic Football Summer Camp Sessions are eligible to pre-order customized Gaelic football training kits, including a jersey, shorts, and socks, at a discounted rate of £20 per kit (usually £40).
