Trail Sisters Dig Day @ Rocky Point | Rocky Point Central Trailhead
Sports & Fitness
Join the Trail Sisters for a day of trail work at Rocky Point. The Trail Sisters, a group consisting of women and non-binary individuals, are organizing a trail maintenance event on the Fanny's Yer Aunt trail. This trail, designed and constructed entirely by women, holds a special place in our hearts. No previous experience is necessary to participate in this fulfilling opportunity. The dig will commence promptly at 9:30 am and run until 1 pm, followed by a provided lunch. To ensure a smooth check-in process, kindly arrive 10-15 minutes earlier. We will meet at the mid-parking lot at Rocky Point and proceed from there. For the activity, please come prepared with suitable work attire, including a light long-sleeve shirt, long pants (no shorts), boots, gloves, eye protection, and a jacket for unforeseen weather conditions. Additionally, a hard hat or bike helmet is mandatory. Water and snacks will be available, and the necessary tools will be provided. However, if you possess your own folding saw, loppers, rake, shovel, or hoe, feel free to bring them along. Please note that as part of our agreement with the land manager, Weyerhaeuser, all participants must be NWTA members in good standing and have signed the Rocky Point Waiver. If you are not already a member, we encourage you to join NWTA and become part of a community of over 5,000 mountain bikers dedicated to trail stewardship in NW Oregon and SW Washington. If the cost of membership poses a financial challenge, please reach out to us for assistance. Due to the popularity of these events, spots fill up quickly. If you find that you are unable to attend, we kindly request that you cancel your registration at least 24 hours in advance to allow others on the waitlist to participate.
