Join the LGBTIQ+ Curling taster session in Howwood on Friday, December 15th from 6-8pm. Scottish Curling is hosting a 2-hour session at Greenacres Curling Rink. Make sure to wear warm and flexible clothing along with clean trainers for the event. All necessary equipment, including brushes and sliders, will be provided, along with complimentary tea and coffee. After the session, there will be an opportunity to socialize and enjoy refreshments. Transportation to the venue is convenient, as Greenacres Curling Rink is just a 10-minute taxi ride from Howwood train station. To make it even easier, meet at Glasgow Central at 5pm to catch the 5.17pm train to Howwood together. A taxi will be arranged to take the group to Greenacres. DPIRD Fisheries will be hosting Try Fishing Sessions as part of Gone Fishing Day at the Coastal Environment Centre in Narrabeen Lagoon! We, along with the Coastal Environment Centre, will be running a fun-filled OPEN DAY day to showcase all the lagoon has to offer, with fishing sessions to be held across the day. Whether you're a seasoned angler or a first-timer, this event is perfect for all ages and skill levels. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to connect with nature and maybe even reel in a big one! All the equipment is supplied, just come along with a smile and appropriate fishing attire, for your chance to wet a line and talk all things fishing. All fishing will be in the lagoon adjecent to the centre, with all fish being released after a quick photo. Open to all ages, however, each child participating must have a responsible adult in attendance to assist with practical fishing (minimum 1 parent per family group). Bookings are essential as places are limited.
