In 2025, the entire country will celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War – an event of immense global significance. We pay tribute to the heroes of the war: the soldiers who defended the Homeland in battles on the front and the people in civilian professions who worked day and night in the rear to bring the great day - Victory Day - closer. To commemorate this holiday, the Moscow Kremlin Museums are presenting an exhibition dedicated to the history of preserving the architectural ensemble of the Kremlin and the collection of the Armoury Chamber during the war years.

"SVOYASI" is a current exhibition of contemporary Russian art. The theme of the exhibition at the Historical Museum is "Home as a Space of Being." It is based on the interpretation of the concept of external and internal space, which defines key philosophical perspectives. The 2025 exhibition features 79 artists, designers, and craftsmen from various cities across Russia. Each participant, selected through a rigorous curatorial process, brings their own statement, strong traditions of craftsmanship, and genuinely profound vision to the project. All exhibits will either be presented to a wide audience for the first time or were specifically created for this exhibition.

The exhibition features over 100 works by Aivazovsky from museums across Russia, most of them made in ps-3D format, allowing visitors to feel like they are inside the painting. And powerful high-resolution projectors supplemented by surround sound will transport visitors thousands of kilometers away to the Black Sea to the site of famous naval battles.

The exhibition at the Moscow Kremlin Museums is part of the official events programme for the Russian-Chinese Intercultural Year 2024-2025, announced by the governments of both countries. The collections of the National Museum of China, one of the largest and most visited museums in the world, are presented for the first time in the Moscow Kremlin. The show will be devoted to such an the important aspect of human culture as gastronomic traditions, and will present the history of these traditions in China.

The Russian Archives, in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Defense, the Federal Security Service, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian Historical Society, as well as archival institutions and museums, organized an exhibition of archival documents and artifacts that present the most important events of the Great Patriotic War and the crimes committed by the Nazis and their collaborators. The project was developed on the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir V. Sharif. Putin attended the 46th meeting of the Russian "Victory" Organizing Committee on September 5, 2023. More than 500 archival documents and more than 700 exhibits will show visitors the decisive contribution of the Soviet people to the victory over Nazi Germany and its satellite states, tell about the great feats of the multi-ethnic Soviet people and the Red Army, and tell about the great sacrifices made by the Soviet Union to save the world from the brown plague.

The Moscow Estates Festival will take place in the capital from June 1 to September 14. Moscow Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina said the event will bring together 50 historical sites, 11 of which will be open for the first time. The new locations include the Leo Tolstoy Museum-Estate in Khamovniki, the Hussein State Scientific Research Museum of Architecture and the Trubetskoy Estate in Khamovniki Park. Guiders in the form of Russian writers and the protagonists of their works will lead festival participants through historical mansions in the Basmanny district, Arbat Street and Khamovniki district. For those who want to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, explorations using augmented reality technology are welcome. These include last season's popular "Jacob Bruce: In Search of a Lost Book".

The exhibition project "Ordinary Nazism" is dedicated to the history of the emergence and development of the Ukrainian version of Nazism from its inception to the present day. More than 200 exhibits tell about the atrocities of Ukrainian nationalists during the Second World War, as well as about the mass crimes and terror of modern neo-Nazis against the residents of Ukraine in 2014-2022. The exhibition materials will show the inextricable connection of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), which participated in the extermination of the civilian population during the war, with modern nationalist organizations of Ukraine that revived the ideology of Nazi Germany. Authentic exhibits from Germany in the late 1930s - early 1940s will show the emergence and development of Nazi ideology, and archival documents and photographs - the bloody reprisals against the residents of Ukraine committed by the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War. Among the rarities are criminal cases that were opened after the war against criminals responsible for atrocities against humanity on the territory of the Ukrainian SSR. In the section "Nazism Today" visitors will see dozens of material evidence proving pro-Nazi sentiments in modern Ukraine - these are books, uniforms, propaganda paraphernalia of Ukrainian nationalists, items with Nazi symbols. The exhibition presents photographs and eyewitness accounts of the crimes of modern neo-Nazis against the residents of Ukraine. The central part of the exhibition will be a poignant installation dedicated to the deceased children of Donbass. The exhibition includes materials from the collections of the Victory Museum, the Donetsk Republican Museum of Local History, the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History, as well as the special RIA Novosti project "Donbass. Genocide 2014 - 2022". Many unique exhibits will be shown for the first time.

The exhibition area, located in the foyer of the Poklonka cinema, presents posters and placards of Soviet films from the collection of the Russian State Film Fund and the State Central Museum of Cinema. As part of the exhibition, the cinema hosts a free screening of one of the films once a month, the posters and placards of which are part of the exhibition. The display cases present exhibits dedicated to the history of the creation and existence of films, the equipment used to create films, materials from periodicals, philately and phaleristics related to the films being shown. Each film is dedicated to a significant date or holiday. Masterpieces of Soviet cinema will remind visitors to the exhibition and cinema of the military victories of our people, the greatest achievements of peacetime, childhood and youth. The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and the State Russian Museum are jointly presenting the exhibition project "Museums' Merit." Commemorating the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, the exhibition is dedicated to all those who defend contemporary culture and pays tribute to the heroic deeds of Alla Andreeva, an employee of the Soudja Regional History Museum. The exhibition tells the story of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts from 1941 to 1945 and the dedicated service of its employees. Models, drawings, images, and archival documents will be on display. Fifty-five unique photographs by the renowned photographer Nikolai Sveshov-Paola will be exhibited for the first time. This artist's work is not only a photographic chronicle but also a rare masterpiece of art.

Each photograph is unique in its own way and represents a whole story filled with the spirit of the times and the exploits of the heroes. Among the photographs are the works of the legendary photojournalist Yevgeny Khaldey. The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts will host an exhibition dedicated to On the Four Winds, Europe's first major printmaking publishing house. Founded by artist and engraver Hieronymus Cock, the exhibition will feature prints based on paintings by prominent European artists such as Raphael, Bronzino, and Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Cock's prints, covering a wide range of subjects, reflected the worldview of 16th-century Europe and served as a vehicle for modern photography. The exhibition will showcase how a single printmaking publishing house transformed the art world.

The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts opens the second part of the series "New Masterpieces by Pushkin", introducing visitors to new acquisitions to the museum's collection. The project demonstrates to the general public the most significant acquisitions of recent years that were not presented in the permanent exhibition. Each item can only be seen for two weeks.The new display is dedicated to the work of the outstanding French painter, the great portraitist of the era of Louis XIV Nicolas de Largillière "Portrait of an Officer" - the most recent and, perhaps, the most significant acquisition for the fund of French painting of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.

At the exhibition "Potsdam. July 1945" visitors will be able to see documents from the archival collections of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, declassified in 2025, including: cipher telegrams from residents of Soviet military intelligence in London "On the discrepancy between the USA and Great Britain in their policy towards the USSR" dated 13.06.1945 and "On the decision of the British government to stop recognizing the Polish government in London and to recognize the new government in Poland" dated 27.06.1945, as well as "Special message on the receipt of a secret document "Possibilities and intentions of the USSR in the post-war period" compiled by US intelligence services dated 12.07.1945. The Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces also transferred the documentary film "Military Intelligence. Arguments for Victory. From Yalta to Potsdam", released in 2025. The exhibition features a dagger and cufflinks of diplomat and intelligence officer Andrei Andreevich Smirnov. The exhibition is supplemented by personal belongings of representatives of the Soviet delegation: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR to the USA A.A. Gromyko, Marshal of Aviation F.Ya. Falaleev, Senior Assistant to the People's Commissar of Foreign Affairs of the USSR B.F. Podtseroba. A separate set of objects and photographs is dedicated to the topic of preparation and security of the Potsdam Conference. Of particular interest is the Memorandum to Marshal of Aviation Falaleev from the Commander of the US Air Force General Henry Harley Arnold on the results of the strategic bombing of Japan by the American Air Force (in the original language and translated into Russian). A separate part of the exhibition will consist of newspaper articles about the Berlin Conference and archival leaflets published on behalf of the Soviet Government following the Potsdam Conference.
