The Women in Sport-Coaching Teenage Girls Workshop is designed specifically for coaches, instructors, and teachers who work with teenage girls in the field of sports. The workshop consists of four main modules that address important aspects of coaching girls aged 12-17. These modules include Drop-out And Engagement in Girls’ Sport and Physical Activity, Meeting the Psycho-Social Needs of Girls in Sport, Key Considerations for Coaching Girls 12-17 years - Body image & Maturation, and Preparing for the Challenges of Adolescence in Girls. In addition to the workshop, which is conducted by trained Coach Developers/Tutors, there are also valuable learning resources available for each coach. These resources include a pre-workshop task that prompts coaches to think about effective coaching practices with teenage girls, a reflective journal that allows coaches to analyze how the workshop content may apply to their coaching, and a comprehensive coach's manual that covers the content discussed in each section of the workshop. Furthermore, the Let's Get Real tasks serve as a post-workshop support system, aiding coaches in transferring their learning to their practical coaching sessions with the girls they train, be it in a club, school, or community group setting.
