Introduction to Welding: This one-day welding course will introduce you to the basics of welding metal and let you have a go at welding to create a product of your own. The course explores the two most common welding processes MIG and MMA (Stick) Welding. Over the day; you will use both welding processes and learn the difference between the two. You will also use angle grinders to prepare metal for welding and use them to clean up welds. You will learn best practise for welding metal of different thicknesses and size. By the end of the day; you know the difference between the two processes and chose a welding method to create your own metal object. This course is perfect for beginners or anyone keen to just have a go at welding without buying all the expensive machinery and metal. The day will be led by Richard Evans, an experienced metal fabricator and designer. All materials required for this course are included in the price. What you'll make: A metal object. Skills you'll learn: MMA /MIG Welding of mild steel, material preparation using an angle grinder, general fabrication and finishing techniques. Welding Class: Fundamentals to Metalwork This one-day course will introduce you to the fundamentals of metalwork and welding using MMA and MIG welding. These Welding methods are some of the oldest and most accessible forms of welding metal. The day includes welding tuition and practice, material preparation, cutting and metal finishing techniques. All fundamental skills for fabricating objects in metal. Over the day; you will receive 1-2-1 tuition in stick and mig welding, learn about preparing material using an angle grinder and about the safe use of workshop machinery for cutting. You will then use these skills to construct a Plant Stand and weld it together. This course is perfect for beginners or anyone keen learn about basic of MMA & MIG welding, Fabrication or DIY learners looking to weld their own furniture. The day will be led by Richard Evans, an experienced metal fabricator and designer. All materials required for this course are included in the price. Waiting At Eldridge is a story about mortals, monsters, and the times and spaces in between the mundane and the magical. You might have forgotten about the monsters in the shadows, but they haven't forgotten about you ... Story Forge are delighted to be hosting Tom Juniper. He was the winner of the 2024 Step Up Commission and this is the story that he created for Step Up Tom Juniper lives in Sheffield. He may be a poet who tells stories, or else a storyteller with a tendency to rhyme. Come to this very special event and decode for yourself. Doors open at 7.00 p.m. get a drink from the bar and join us up the staircase ready for the show to begin at 7.30 p.m. Meals are avalable and can be delivered to you in the audience Tickets available on Eventbrite by donation. £8-£10 suggested Sales will close a few hours before the show but there will also be tickets on the door.
