It's time for the second annual Camp 5K Fundraiser! Grab your friends and your sneakers, and come to Laurel Creek with us! Get ready for one of the most exciting and meaningful events of the season… Camp 5K is back and bigger than ever! After an incredible first year, we are bringing it all back with even more energy, more fun, and more ways to get involved. This high energy, family friendly run and walk is all about community, connection, and making a real impact in support of Camp K. The day kicks off with registration opening at 11:00 AM, giving you time to check in, soak up the atmosphere, and dive into everything we have planned. The 1 km walk or run will begin at 11:45 AM, perfect for a fun and accessible route, followed by the 5 km walk or run at 12:00 PM for those ready to take on the full experience. And the fun does not stop at the finish line. This year’s event is packed with activities for everyone to enjoy, including face painting, lawn games, a raffle, and so much more. We are also working behind the scenes to bring in even more exciting additions, with new activities and experiences to be announced soon. Every ticket gives you access to the full event experience, including all games and activities. Participants registered for the 1 km or 5 km will also gain access to the official run and walk routes. Most importantly, every single ticket sold goes directly back into Camp K. Your support helps us continue to offer exceptional programming, exciting field trips, transportation, supplies, and inclusive supports that make camp accessible and unforgettable for every camper. Improv workshops taught by Ben Gorodetsky, followed by a comedy jam! All experience levels welcome. Pinch Arts presents: Improviser, director, and UWaterloo instructor Ben Gorodetsky is offering a 2 hour improv workshop & jam. Improv builds confidence, teaches storytelling, improves listening and collaboration, and allows you to be present in the moment. Taking an improv class is like supercharging your creative brain! The 90 minute workshop portion will be followed by a 30 minute improv jam facilitated by Ben, exploring short form and long form improv games for a fun and immersive approach to collaborative comedy. All skill levels welcome! --- Pay what you can! ($20 suggested, but no one turned away) --- This workshop will take place at The Waterloo Visitor Information Centre | 10 Father David Bauer Dr, Waterloo --- About the instructor: Ben Gorodetsky is an improviser, director, and educator based in Kitchener, Ontario. They are curator and host of KW monthly mainstays: Pinch Cabaret and Together We're Boisterous Comedy. Ben has performed, taught, and directed improvisation at The Magnet Theatre (NYC), Out of Bounds Comedy (Austin), UCB (LA), Highwire Comedy (Atlanta), English Lovers (Vienna), IGLU (Ljubljana), FERIIR (Reunion Island), Bad Dog (Toronto), and Blind Tiger (Vancouver). His performance work has been presented by The Art Gallery of Ontario, CAFKA, Lumen Fest, Movement Research at Judson Church, The Tank NYC, Mile Zero Dance, Brian Webb Dance Company, Expanse Festival of Movement Arts, Rubaboo Festival, Guelph Dance Festival, SpringWorks, and the Gas Station Arts Centre. They are creator and executive producer of TV series "My Pet Ate What?" for CTV/Bell Media. Ben is the former Associate Artistic Director of Rapid Fire Theatre a nominee for a Canadian Comedy Award.
