Welcome to the Landscape Collaging Workshop!This workshop is for 13-18 year-olds. Parents must remain at the venue throughout the workshop. Come join us for a fun and creative evening at Left Bank Leeds on Saturday 14th December at 12pm. Let's explore the art of collaging and create beautiful landscape scenes together. You can expect to learn different techniques for collaging and experiment with painting and pencil mediums. We'll be using art paper and creating landscape art from scratch in this workshop so if you've ever collaged with recycled materials and cutouts before, you'll love this class. All materials will be provided for the class so just bring yourself, your imagination, and some of your own landscape photographs if you like! Poppy-Lee will be providing photographs, but you're more than welcome to bring your own and give life to one of your own memories instead. Spaces are limited, so be sure to reserve your spot soon. We can't wait to collage with you! Poppy-Lee Jennings is a multi-disciplinary artist & illustrator based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Her work is often inspired by her local environment and wildlife. In her illustration practice, she has a particular focus on creating botanical and mycological studies in various mediums, providing educational context for the subjects she explores. She works as a freelance art teacher, hosting a series of classes at venues across the city for beginners and novice artists, introducing people to painting, collaging, botanical drawing, foraging practices, and pattern design. This workshop is part of Poppy-Lee's solo art exhibition 'Fleeting Seasons' and supported with funding from Leeds Inspire Fund, Leeds City Council. The exhibition will be on display at Left Bank Leeds 20th November - 31st December 2024. Left Bank Leeds does not have a car park but there are lots of parking options on streets around the venue. To keep things simple and sparkly at this busy time of year we’re holding an in-person Salon at our former hangout, the fabulous Wash Bar on The Mound. Mike has very kindly offered to open especially for us, and we’ll be upstairs, looking out on the glorious Scott Monument (slightly dwarfed by the garish fairground rides!) This will be a predominantly social event, but we invite anyone who wishes to bring things to sell to apply for a ‘space’ so we can create a tiny Festive Market of our own. We’re thinking pamphlets, zines, cards and illustrations, or anything arty/crafty. There will be limited spaces so please book a ‘table space’ ticket. To retain our pledge for inclusivity we won’t charge vendors, but we invite you to offer a reasonable donation to Edinburgh Literary Salon on the night. Naturally this sort of event doesn’t lend itself to livestreaming, and while the lower section of the pub is reasonably accessible, toilets are only in the upstairs section.
