Michael Moore altsax/klarinet,
Guillermo Celano gitaar,
Omer Govreen contrabas,
Onno Govaert drums With his new Universe Quartet, Michael Moore dedicates himself to 'Ballads & Dedications', two forms that offer musical freedom. With this quartet, alongside Moore, consisting of Guillermo Celano on guitar, Omer Govreen on double bass, and Onno Govaert on drums, Moore plays both new and old compositions, with influences from jazz, latin and improv.
Michael Moore combines the best of different worlds: the finesse of the American jazz tradition, the anarchy of the New Dutch Swing, and the uniqueness of folk music from all corners of the globe. The California-born reed player is active in the Amsterdam jazz scene as a composing member of the ICP Orchestra, as the leader of his own bands, and as the owner of
the Ramboy label. He has collaborated with, among others, Lee Konitz, Dave Douglas, Kenny Wheeler, and Mark Feldman.
