Mountain Biking
This is the Shredders family Hub Ride - all ages, all bikes. Just come along for 90 mins of free, family, fresh air fun. You will remain responsible for your child(ren) during the ride. We will break into groups that will attempt to stay together (this isn't guaranteed but it's a goal). This is not a 'led' ride but a social ride. If you need a bike for yourself or your child (and helmets) these can be rented from Pedal Progression FOR FREE. Just email Ollie at PP (info@pedalprogression.com) directly or email shredders (bristolshredders@gmail.com). Bike and helmet hire is currently free thanks to our British Cycling funding. Woohoo! Please book ONE ticket but just say it's for 'family Wilson' (etc). Thanks. Invite your friends. Bring your neighbours. Everyone is welcome. You will need to be self sufficient for you and your kids. A well maintained bike, water, tools and spares are a good idea! You will be responsible for yourself and your children throughout the ride. Please make sure helmets fit and children have gloves. You should ride in a maximum ratio of 1 adult to 2 children. If they differ in age and pace dramatically then think about buddying up with another family or bring a spare grown up. Note - for Ashton Court rides, park in the 'golf cafe' car park and then meet on the grass by the miniature railway (not at the shop). For Leigh Woods rides, park in the main car park or North Road and congregate away from the cars opposite the jumps by the main carpark. . Look out for the shredders flag. All our rides are now 90 mins. There will be plenty of time to stop and poke sticks in puddles, climb trees and do cartwheels. Voluntary donation Hub rides are free. If you'd like to make a small donation to the club to help us get more ride leaders trained up (with British Cycling leader training and first aid) then please donate to our paypal account - bristolshredders@gmail.com. Thank you! We have 4 new ride leaders thanks to parents' ongoing support. It is hugely appreciated and means more kids shredding the trails :-) Information Source: Bristol Shredders | eventbrite

Reweaving Stories This gathering invites participants to explore the personal and collective narratives woven into our wardrobes. Through conversation and hands-on needlework, we will reflect on our relationships with clothing, uncover forgotten stories, and reimagine our connections to the textiles we wear every day. By learning simple repair and embellishment techniques, we will not only revive essential skills but also rekindle a more mindful and intimate bond with our clothing. The clothes we wear tell our stories: who we are, who we want to be, and what we belong to. Historically, these stories were deeply rooted in place, shaped by local textile traditions and passed down through generations. Yet, as clothing production has become distant and industrialised, many of us have lost the skills to care for and connect with our garments. The workshop will start with a tour of the gallery, followed by an activity exploring our identity through our wardorbe. You’ll learn simple mending techniques to repair and personalise your clothes. No experience needed—materials and guidance will be provided! Please bring an item to repair! Free event- donations encouraged, they mean we can run more events like this in the future! Bristol Premiere of Ceibo and Q&A with Maddie Meddings and Lucy Small Join us for the Bristol premiere ofCeibowhich follows surfers Pacha Light and Lucy Small as they journey across Ecuador to learn how we can better coexist with our planet. What is the cost of our consumption? It’s replacing the precious marine life in our oceans with plastic, poisoning our rivers and destroying communities as our demand for new technology escalates and our dependence on fossil fuels continues to expand. What can we learn from women in Ecuador where they are deeply connected to their landscapes and communities and where these impacts are felt first? From the land rights struggles of the Andes and the Amazon, to an Olympic surfer who has carved out a path for women, to the fight to protect the waters of the Galapagos Islands, Ceibo explores some of the most important struggles of our time. Along the way, Pacha untangles her own evolving identity as she reconnects with her Ecuadorian roots and embraces what it means to be Ecuadorian. £1 from each ticket will be donated to our impact partnerswho are doing critical work in the regions of Ecuador where the film is made. We also encourage you to buy a raffle ticket for additional support for these organisations. Tickets will be available to purchase online before the event and on the night. Event schedule: 7:00pm -We will be in the foyer so please come and say hey! 7:30pm -Film starts 8:45pm -Panel discussion and Q&A with Maddie and Lucy.
