About Kappa League: Kappa League is not just an organization; it's a movement dedicated to empowering young men across the valley. Through mentorship, career opportunities, and exposure, Kappa League instills values of leadership, personal growth, and academic excellence in its members. Our program brings together successful men with 6th – 12th grade male students from diverse backgrounds, nurturing their potential and guiding them towards a brighter future. Theme: Breaking Barriers, Building Legacies This year’s theme embodies the spirit of progress and transformation. "Breaking Barriers" reflects our commitment to overcoming challenges and dismantling obstacles that stand in the way of growth and opportunity. "Building Legacies" underscores our dedication to creating a lasting impact through personal, academic, and leadership development. Together, we aim to empower the change-makers of tomorrow, inspiring positive change within our community and beyond. Keynote Speaker Biography: Dr. Quintin Boyce This year, we are honored to welcome Dr. Quintin Boyce as the keynote speaker for the Kappa League Showcase. A Chicago native currently residing in Tempe, Arizona, Dr. Boyce is the Associate Vice President of Educational Outreach at Arizona State University, where he leads K-12 school partnerships and inspires the next generation of scholars and leaders. Dr. Boyce's journey in education began with a Bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in 2000, followed by a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from Cambridge College in 2005, and a Doctorate from ASU in 2012. Initially planning to become a medical doctor, his passion for education was sparked during his senior year of college, leading him to dedicate over 20 years to K-12 education as a teacher, principal, district leader, and superintendent. As an educator, Dr. Boyce has excelled in teaching diverse subjects, including biology, AP biology, chemistry, and forensics, earning recognition as an exemplary educator on both local and national levels. His leadership extended beyond the classroom, where he guided aspiring leaders, presented nationwide on effective school leadership, and served as an Executive Director of Teaching and Learning for Phoenix Union High School District. In 2019, he took on the role of Superintendent in the Roosevelt School District, where he worked to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for students. Today, Dr. Boyce continues his mission of empowering communities through education at ASU, while contributing to several boards and leadership organizations. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Boyce cherishes his family, including his wife Neda and their four children—daughters Brooke (15), Paige (11), and Ava (3), and son Harper (5). Known for his humor and zest for life, Dr. Boyce enjoys riding motorcycles, dreams of being a comedian, and proudly declares Chicago as the greatest city on earth, with unmatched pizza, skyline, and sports legacy. Dr. Boyce's commitment to breaking barriers and building legacies aligns perfectly with this year’s theme. We are thrilled to have him share his journey and insights as we celebrate progress, perseverance, and the transformative power of education. Information Source: Arizona Guide | eventbrite

3 R's Trusted Adult Ally Training (IN PERSON: May 2025) | BLOOM365

May 6, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Phoenix
Cultural Experiences
The problem is in plain sight. It’s the elephant in the room… unrecognized, undiscussed, unaddressed. There are simply too many instances of relationship abuse and violence among youth and teens. BLOOM365 is stepping in to root out abuse and violence through our 3 R's Trusted Adult Ally training program so the adults in the lives of youth know how to recognize and respond to victimization. Our aim is to uproot abuse in a generation. Date: May 6-8, 2025 Time: 9:00 am-4:30 pm (MST)/11:00 am-6:30 pm (EST) Location: ZOOM (link provided a week prior to the training) Cost: $90 pp or FREE with partner organization code Recognize the Signs. Support Youth. End Youth Violence. It's happening more than we know. Teen relationship/dating abuse and violence thrive in silence. But you can be the change. BLOOM365's 3 R's Trusted Adult Ally training equips you with the information and skills to make a real difference in a young person's life. Become a Trusted Adult Ally and learn how to: Recognize: Spot the red flags and warning signs of abuse. Respond: Confidently and effectively support a young person in crisis using the L.E.V.E.L. method. Reframe: Shift from reacting to abuse to preventing it before it starts. *Note you must attend each track to receive a certificate* This isn't just training—it's empowerment. You'll gain the skills and confidence to: Offer hope: Be a safe and supportive presence for teens going through abuse or violence. Break the silence: Help teens overcome barriers to seeking help. Create change: Become part of the bloom365 community to end youth violence. *Note you must complete all three tracks to receive a certificate* Why get certified as a Trusted Adult Ally? BLOOM365's Trusted Adult Ally training addresses and alleviates the help seeking barriers faced by youth and teens who have witnessed or experienced victimization by ensuring the adults around them have the knowledge, confidence and skills to provide basic victim advocacy (empathetic listening, information, safety planning and referrals). Support the students and teens in your life. Raising awareness isn’t enough. Trusted Adults in the lives of youth need the knowledge to recognize the signs, the skills to respond appropriately, and the confidence to reframe policies and actions to prevent the root causes of interpersonal violence. Improve your own healthy relationship building skills. Setting the example on how to build healthy relationships and practice self-care is just as important as teaching these skills to youth. Learn to recognize your own boundaries and ways to take care of yourself, while supporting others. Build your professional development toolkit. The Trusted Adult Ally Certification demonstrates that you care about the social and emotional well-being and safety of young people, as well as gives you the tools to enhance your work with youth.
