The choir has a wide repertoire spanning the range from 16th Century polyphony and the music of the 21st century, including Irish works. The Tredagh Singers believe in promoting original pieces, particularly when advancing the works of their contemporaries. BOYNE SWIM in association with Aura LeisureWOW......... 10 years of the Boyne Swim in association with Aura Leisure!!Drogheda Triathlon are excited to welcome you back to the Boyne Swim in association with Aura Leisure for 2025, Saturday July 12th, start time 1.20pm.The swim is now a highly anticipated annual event for both open water swimmers and triathletes. Competitors vie for the beautiful perpetual trophies for overall Senior & Minor Male and Female swimmers, commissioned by Drogheda Port Company and designed by local sculptor Ronan Halpin. Additionally, we offer prize categories for both wetsuit and skins swimmers. The swim course covers a distance of 2.7 km, starting in Mell Drogheda and finishing at The Boyne Fishermen Boathouse on Marsh Road. Along the route, you'll swim through Drogheda Port, passing under six bridges: The Bridge of Peace, Dominick's Bridge, Haymarket Bridge, St. Mary's Bridge, Hugh de Lacy Bridge, and finally the Viaduct Bridge, with the finish line just southeast of the Viaduct Bridge. Drawing inspiration from Micheál O’Connell’s System Interference, children will learn to create grid-like doodles using objects such as paper clips, coins, pasta, straws, bottle caps, cotton buds, and more. By applying 'Systems interference' techniques, their doodles will transform these ordinary objects into something completely new and different. This process-based workshop aims to introduce children, aged 5-12 years, to basic concepts and ideas as they explore their creativity. The emphasis is on understanding the ideas behind the objects, rather than solely focusing on the end result. All materials will be provided, and the workshop is priced at €8 per child. Experience a relaxing and unstructured day of sketching at Highlanes Gallery in Drogheda. Join the Sketchy People group for their wintering months, as they take up residence indoors at the gallery. Normally held outdoors on scheduled Saturdays, the Sketchy People meet-up will now be held within the gallery during the colder, wetter, and chillier months. From 2:00pm to 4:00pm, bring your pens, pencils, and sketchbook to capture what draws your interest. You are invited to respond to both the exhibitions on display and the architectural features of the gallery. The atmosphere is laid-back and unstructured, so feel free to arrive late and say hi to anyone with a sketchbook. At 4:00pm, join the group for a coffee and chat to share your sketches if you'd like.
