The Gujo Odori is one of Japan's oldest and longest-running Bon Odori festivals, with a history of over 400 years. Held in the scenic Gujo Hachiman Castle Town, this two-month festival invites locals and visitors to dance in the streets every night, passing on a rich cultural tradition.

The fireworks festival in Kawabe-cho, Kamo-gun, Gifu Prefecture is held in conjunction with the Kawabe Dance. The theme for 2025 is "It's already September, but summer by the river is still hot!" The Foxlight Festival originates from the ancient Japanese folklore of "foxlight" ("foxfire" in English), an eerie light that sometimes appears at night. The foxlight folklore is often compared to the will-o'-the-wisp folklore of European cultures; however, in Japan, foxlights are believed to be the torches of fox processions. During this festival, a fox wedding procession solemnly parades through town, ultimately leading the bride and groom (a real couple selected from applicants nationwide) to the ceremony venue.

Screening of “Willy Loman Comes to China” The Arthur Miller Writing Studio, Inc. together with the Roxbury Public Library, will screen the short documentary, “Willy Loman Comes to China” at the Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury, CT. The award-winning film was made for the CBS News series “Our Times with Bill Moyers,” when producer, writer, and director Harry Moses and Moyers accompanied Arthur Miller to Beijing in 1983 as he directed the first Chinese production of Death of A Salesman. Following the screening, Moses will share a story about his time with Arthur in China and the challenges encountered in filming the production. This traditional event is held at Oase Pond in Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture, which is said to be the residence of the dragon god since ancient times. About 1,500 fireworks, including colorful starlight fireworks and musical fireworks, excite the audience. Fireworks are launched from small boats floating on the pond, creating an atmosphere as if watching a giant snake and the dragon god dancing, and can be viewed up close. The musical fireworks are accompanied by music, which is not only pleasing to the eyes, but also pleasant to the ears. The fireworks reflected on the surface of Oase Pond are also breathtakingly beautiful. There are also food stalls around the venue, offering a variety of food and drinks.

Parents can register kids for either Tuesday OR Wednesday classes. This is for the Tuesday classes. Runs twice a month through May 2025. During the first session, kids will be read a fun story by one of our teachers and get to create multiple related hands on art projects. This fireworks display is hosted by Gifu Shimbun and Gifu Broadcasting. It is held in a prime location on the banks of the Ibigawa River. It is grand in scale and attracts many tourists every year. 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the war. The theme of this fireworks display is "Fireworks Display Connecting the Postwar and the Future", and it is planned to cover fireworks displays from the pre-war and post-war periods. The event will proceed as usual on light rainy days, but will be postponed in the event of a storm or river flooding.
