The Tampa Open is a sanctioned Weightlifting competition open to all USAW members. This competition will run 2 days alongside the FitFest expo, with competition happening on Saturday and Sunday for athletes depending on schedule (TBD). All registered athletes will receive an event shirt as well as prizes from our sponsors as part of their registration fee as well as admittance to the expo for the entirety of the weekend. The Florida State Fair returns to the Fairgrounds in Tampa from Feb. 6-17. What started at the Tampa Bay Hotel in 1904 officially became the Florida State Fair in 1977 with the establishment of the Florida State Fair Authority. From its beginnings, it has grown into a nearly two-week stretch featuring educational animal shows that celebrate Florida's agricultural industry, along the Midway games and attractions, and live entertainment. There's also Cracker Country, a quaint “town” that resembles life as a Florida pioneer in the 19th century.
