With a thrilling lineup of music, food, and entertainment, this event is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of the maritime region. You'll be treated to a diverse range of musical performances, featuring local and international talent. Sing and dance along to traditional sea shanties, folk songs, and other maritime melodies. Our goal is to create a friendly and inclusive space to learn the basics of surfing for women and folks of the LGBTQ+ community. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Whether this is your first time or you have surfed a couple times, this is a perfect opportunity for you to learn or improve the fundamentals of a pop-up, surf-etiquette, paddling and board management in a fun, friendly, supportive, and safe environment. The tides are extremely low so get ready for a rockpool safari with a difference. We’ll take you on an exploration of the shore as we search for marine life which is only uncovered on a very low tide. Discover kelp forests, look out for lobsters and seek out starfish and sea slugs galore on this rockpool safari special! Please note, children must be supervised by an adult throughout the event. Embrace your wild side - what to expect: This event is suitable for families. The event will involve walking over uneven ground on the rocky shore and on slippery surfaces. Please ensure to wear suitable footwear and to bring waterproof clothing. We will be walking through rockpools so waterproof shoes are required - wellies would be best. As one of the crown jewels of our summer, we're thrilled to host Lady Lamb, an all-time SPACE fave and one of Maine's true indie-rock pride 'n' joys, for an evening at the beautiful rustic setting of Broadturn Farm in Scarborough. From her early days, staying late after-hours at her video rental store job in Maine to record songs, to co-producing and arranging her four studio records, Aly Spaltro has remained focused on music that connects, empowers and builds community.
