Celebration
A 30-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is Nasatta Park. The best light festival in Thailand is held in this peaceful forest park. During the normal days of the year, Nasatta Park is open to visitors during daytime hours as an educational museum of modern Thai history and art. But since 2018, for two months each year, the park transforms its 44 rai (or 7.4 hectares) of exhibition area into a famous annual light festival, with millions of LED lights installed in unique spaces. The park's light festival is the largest and most creative light festival in Thailand. The 7.4 hectares of forest landscape are covered with countless LED light displays and light projectors, providing new perspectives on the elaborate architects, beautiful sculptures and calm natural landscapes throughout the park. Imagine walking under the towering green canopy and admiring the endless lights around you. It is sure to be a special moment of your vacation in Thailand. Nasatta Light Festival has a unique, subtle Thai charm, designed by our in-house artistic light designers, and there is nothing like it anywhere else in the world today. Come here for a refreshing experience, exploring new areas that have not yet been over-explored by the crowds. Adult full-day tickets are only 350 THB and are available to all visitors. For this price, you can stroll through the park during the day - visiting the activity pavilions as well as the light festival at night. During the daytime visiting hours, there are canteens, restaurants and cafes next to the museum, offering lots of delicious snacks and food to keep you hydrated and energized throughout the day. In the evening, there are plenty of food stalls within the festival to keep you fueled for more exciting photo opportunities throughout the evening. So you'll never go hungry! We recommend visiting the park early and booking one of the many cultural immersion workshops the park offers. They have quite a few masterclasses to choose from, such as Thai food cooking and gold leaf canvas gilding to name a few. But book in advance as these workshops are offered in small groups, places are limited, and they only take place during daytime hours. Therefore, it is recommended to check and book your place for these workshops at least a week in advance to ensure you have a spot and don't miss out on this opportunity! With all the activities going on, you can easily spend 4 - 6 hours in the park while sipping on delicious local Thai refreshments.

MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum is pleased to present “The Unspoken Dialogue,” a solo retrospective exhibition tracing the artistic evolution of Wanlop Hansunthai (b. 1978, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand). With a profound sensitivity to the intricate bond between humanity and nature, the Thai contemporary artist’s work delves into the essence of human nature itself, inviting contemplation on our place within the ever-changing world around us. Born and raised in the agricultural countryside of Nakhon Ratchasima, Hansunthai was immersed in rural life from an early age. First working as a volunteer for an environmental foundation and later as a land surveyor, he traversed vast terrains, where the quiet yet powerful dialogue between human existence and the natural world unfolded before his eyes, while the underlying undercurrents of social movements ran alongside. These deep connections between people, the physical places they inhabit, and the cultural practices they follow have profoundly informed the trajectory of his artistic inquiry. “The Unspoken Dialogue” explores the evolving contexts of human activity and its repercussions on the environment, through a diverse array of mediums, including installation, sculpture, mixed-media painting, photography, and moving image. Some of the pieces are drawn from the museum's permanent collection, others are curated from Hansunthai’s past exhibitions, most notably “Against the Wall” (2021) at Numthong Art Space; “THE PRESENCE OF SILENCE” (2022) at Gallery Seescape; and “HAUS” (2023) and “Survival Sphere” (2024) at Head High Second Floor, Chiang Mai, Thailand. Guided by a minimalist sensibility grounded in naturalism, Hansunthai’s voice emerges softly yet profoundly, distilling personal contemplations into powerful narratives. His works engage with themes ranging from the rippling emergence of cultural structures, to the fluid dynamics between humans and their environment, and the turbulent convergence of individual perspectives and collective realities through history. Materializing locally sourced natural materials as mediums for his exploration, his practice is firmly anchored in the landscapes that fuel his vision. Amidst an era that rushes ever forward — like the relentless torrent of water — “The Unspoken Dialogue” beckons the audience to pause, retreat within, reflect upon, and listen to the silent conversations. In this stillness, we seek the delicate equilibrium between living beings and nature, all while exploring our place within a context ever-changing, shaped by the shifting currents of time and external forces.

Kim Lim has created a serene garden on her canvas, a landscape woven with branches, grass, and vibrant color fields that encircle and protect unease and sensitive caution, organizing speech and confession. Within this gentle scenery lies not only vulnerability but also a soft yet resilient strength. Under a colorful sky supported by umbrella-like mushrooms and intersecting tree trunks, amidst vines as delicate as silk threads and entangled leaves, sharp lines are accentuated by delicate forms, revealing teeth as clear as geometric dividers. Amidst the warmth of the imagery, the appearance of teeth pierces through the soft hues, akin to a conspiracy of tenderness and violence. The tiny rows of teeth and the multi-layered depth of the landscape collectively point to the spiritual tension of breaking free from constraints, as metaphorically suggested by the artist.

The exhibition name "Paradise Lost" comes from the Renaissance painter Hieronymus Bosch. Bosch is famous for his bizarre and fantastical painting style. The world he painted is full of metaphors and symbols, like an absurd and charming paradise. Those strange life forms reconstructed from animals, plants and architectural fragments are both disturbing and exude a surreal attraction. He broke the rules of nature, pushed his imagination to the extreme, and created new life forms that transcend reality.

Songkran Celebration
When the bells of Songkran 2025 chime, Bangkok's financial artery, Silom Road, undergoes a mind-bending metamorphosis. From April 13-16, this normally suit-clad business corridor transforms into Southeast Asia's longest open-air water theater. The 850-meter stretch from Sala Daeng Skywalk to Chong Nonsi Station becomes a flowing movement in a water element symphony. Tip: Arrive via BTS Skytrain - as you enter Sala Daeng Station, witness the boiling water world below. Surprise waterfall spectacles catch even seasoned water warriors off guard. On waterproof stages lining the street, DJs blend traditional long drum rhythms with high-pressure water gun hisses into futuristic soundscapes. Every detail conceals surprises: coconut carts hide high-pressure water cannons, while Pad Thai vendors might offer water guns filled with jasmine-scented blessing water. As the sunset gilds skyscrapers, neon-lit water curtains frame time-bending water battles between traditional sarong-clad dancers and neon bikini-wearing tourists. Equipment strategy: Choose phone cases that withstand elephant-trunk water pressure and quick-dry clothes in glow-in-the-dark hues for nighttime festivities. If you catch the tangy aroma of som tam (green papaya salad) amid the fray, follow it - food stalls with "Cease-Fire Zone" signs are secret bases to replenish ammo (and calories). Songkran 2025 invites you to compose a wet and wild rhapsody in Asia's sleepless city, where glass skyscrapers and century-old arcades frame the ultimate water battleground.
