Regardless of whether or not your child wants to pursue a competitive path, participating in Gymnastics and Parkour will yield lifelong benefits. Age range for this camp is 3.5-12; camp is broken up according to age and skill level. Our experienced coaches will guide you through a variety of activities including balance beam routines, floor exercises, and trampoline tricks. You'll have the chance to showcase your talents in a fun and supportive environment, making new friends along the way. Sturgeon Moon - August The fishing tribes are given credit for the naming of this Moon, since sturgeon, a large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water, were most readily caught during this month. A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon because, as the Moon rises, it appears reddish through any sultry haze. Schooner Freda B is a sea kind 80' gaff rigged coastal schooner, making her one of the San Francisco Bay's most comfortable and traditional vessels to sail. During this interactive hiking experience participants will be given the opportunity to role play various medical emergencies that may occur when hiking or traveling. The group will work as a team to provide appropriate care, and will learn by engaging hands-on with techniques for how to help. We will utilize materials that anyone can carry, and demonstrate techniques to immobilize fractures and treat common conditions that frequently occur when in the wilderness. This will be a physically active trail-based program utilizing the Bear Valley Trail. Total hiking distance will be 6 miles. Please note that this is NOT a certification program. James Pretorius, MD has been a physician for over 41 years and has worked in the Emergency Room, as a Family Physician, and as a Hospitalist. He is a long term outdoorsman with over 25 years of experience riding horses in backcountry, as well as being a current avid hiker, routinely hiking over 1500 miles a year. Join renowned natural dyer, Sasha Duerr , for an exceptional, visiting workshop opportunity on natural dyes! We will meet at the Fibershed Learning Center in Point Reyes Station for a day of exploring the natural palettes of Northern California seasonal color, as late-spring offerings transition to early summer provisions. We will gather a variety of plants and other ingredients on-site, then use them to make natural dyebaths. Together we will create a hyper-local dye palette from a curated selection of gathered ingredients on-site, including weeds, food, and flora waste, and wield them into natural dyebaths for our natural colored conjurings. Explore the nuances and beauty of color terroir, and create an array of take-home, naturally dyed textiles, saturated in the local seasonal tones of West Marin. Maximum 16 students. Participants must bring: Any personal snacks, lunch, and beverages. Coffee and tea will be provided. A notebook and pen for note taking is encouraged. Appropriate clothing and footwear: in case of dye stains, for harvesting and gathering plant material outdoors, etc Instructor Bio: Sasha Duerr is an artist, designer and educator who works with plant-based color and natural palettes. Sasha centers her practice and research on the collaborative color potential of weeds, food and floral waste, and local and seasonal ingredients. Teaching for over a decade at California College of Arts with a joint appointment in Textiles and Fine Arts, Sasha lectures, consults and widely designs curriculum and courses in the intersection of natural color, slow food, slow fashion and social practice. In 2007, Sasha founded Permacouture Institute to encourage the exploration of regenerative design practices for fashion and textiles. From “Dinners to Dye For” to “Weeding Your Wardrobe” and “Seasonal Color Wheels” her extensive work with plant-based color palettes has been featured in the New York Times, American Craft Magazine, Domino, Elle Decor UK, Selvedge, and the Huffington Post. Experience the ultimate Marin County ride with the BBC: Marshall Loop Ride (Clockwise). This benchmark course takes you through the breathtaking landscapes of West Marin, offering a must-do adventure for cycling enthusiasts. Starting at Solstice Bike Works in Terra Linda, riders will gather at 8:45am for a 9am roll time. The journey begins with a climb to Big Rock on Lucas Valley Road, followed by a descent to Nicasio Valley Road. From there, we'll continue on Sir Francis Drake to Olema, where we'll regroup. As we head north through Point Reyes Station and up Hwy 1, prepare to be captivated by the stunning scenery. Our next challenge awaits on Marshall Road, where we will conquer the infamous Marshall Wall before descending to Pt Reyes-Petaluma Road. After regrouping, we'll make our way back to Nicasio Valley Road and Lucas Valley Road, completing the loop by conquering Big Rock once more. This epic ride covers a distance of 70.3 miles, with a total elevation gain of 4,616 feet. The estimated ride time is 5 hours, offering an exhilarating and unforgettable cycling experience. Please note that a properly functioning road bike and helmet are required for this ride, and we highly recommend clipless pedals for optimal performance. The highly anticipated Puppy Yoga in the Park will take place on October 22nd at 9:30am in Santa Monica's Marine Park, situated conveniently next to the Tennis Courts. This outdoor location ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Puppy Yoga is not only a fun and unique way to practice yoga, but it also supports local animal rescues. With each ticket purchased, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to these deserving organizations. Additionally, the funds raised will assist local yoga teachers and our dedicated puppy wrangler. During the event, you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with adorable puppies and small dogs. However, please refrain from bringing your own dogs as their presence may disrupt the socialization process of the puppies. It is important for them to feel safe and comfortable in the appropriate setting. For those unable to attend this time, you can join our pre-sale list to be the first to know when tickets become available for future events. Marine Park offers ample parking, with a large free parking lot available. If the lot is full, there is plenty of free street parking nearby. Public restrooms can be found at the front of the park for your convenience. Please note that all sales are final, and we are unable to provide refunds or date switches.
