At ABC Kids Climbing Gym, children can indulge in a range of thrilling activities including climbing, ziplining, sliding, and playing. Even if your child has no prior climbing experience, our attentive staff will provide tours, review safety rules, and assist families in getting started.
Please note that this climbing time is exclusively reserved for children. Adults are kindly requested to refrain from climbing themselves, allowing kids to have a memorable and enjoyable experience. While the children take a break from climbing, the Friends School staff will offer engaging activities for them to enjoy.

Join the Boulderthon Shake Out Run on Saturday, October 7th, at 8:30am in Boulder. This 3-mile run, starting from Fleet Feet Boulder at 2775 Pearl Street, is the perfect way to shake out your legs before the Boulderthon event. All paces are welcome to participate on the scenic Goose Creek Trail. Thanks to our amazing partners, including Salomon, Oofos, Superfeet, Stretch Lab Boulder, UCAN, Caitlyn Miller, and Kim, this event is made possible.
Salomon will be present with their demo shoes, including the incredible Aero Glide, a lightweight high-cushion daily trainer. Make sure to try out Oofos recovery sandals during race weekend, as they will be available for demos after the run. In addition, Superfeet will provide demos of their insoles to help enhance your running efficiency. Stretch Lab Boulder will be offering free post-run stretches onsite. Don't miss the chance to meet and run with Boulderthon Influencers, Caitlyn Miller and Kim.

Encaustic Painting with Shannon Mello offers a unique artistic experience in Colorado Springs. Led by Shannon Mello, this four-hour session delves into the captivating world of encaustic painting. Encaustic painting is an ancient technique that involves using beeswax and tree resin, melting them into layers to create stunning artworks.
During the workshop, participants will not only learn the basics of encaustic painting but also explore the diverse materials that can be incorporated within the medium. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with encaustic paints, image transfers, shellac burn, scraping techniques for textured effects, and layering objects and paper within the wax. No prior encaustic experience is required, making this workshop accessible to all who are eager to delve into this expressive art form.
Participants will leave the workshop with a variety of pieces, including an 8”x8” ready-to-hang cradled panel, a 6”x6” encaustic board, and any additional practice pieces they create. The event will take place at the prestigious Kreuser Gallery, located at 125 East Boulder Street in Colorado Springs. The workshop will be held on October 14th from 1-5pm.
To ensure a seamless experience, all necessary supplies will be provided. Participants are advised to wear clothes that they don't mind getting messy in. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to bring their own choice of beverage, as Shannon Mello will supply light snacks.

Artist Unleashed: Mixed Media Explorations with Tracey Russell is an exciting workshop that invites participants to join artist Tracey Russell in an exploration and experimentation of mixed media. This inspiring workshop will focus on using various mediums such as charcoal, paint, and collage to unlock our creativity and discover new possibilities in our artwork. Whether you are an experienced artist or just starting out, there is much to be learned in this class.
The workshop will take place over three Tuesdays in the late fall: October 24th, November 7th, and November 14th at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) in Boulder, Colorado. Tracey Russell, a highly experienced artist and teacher with over 20 years of experience, will be leading the workshop. She holds a BFA from Baker University in Kansas and has studied Design at the Colorado Institute of Art. Her art has been showcased in exhibitions throughout Denver, and she has been consistently teaching workshops in the area.
Before the first class, the instructor will provide a list of supplies needed for the workshop. BMoCA members will receive a discount on the registration fee, so it's a great opportunity to become a member and save. Please note that BMoCA has a class cancellation and refund policy. To cancel and request a refund, please contact the Education Department. A 10% administrative fee will be charged on all refunds. Refunds of 90% will be given for cancellations made at least 10 business days before the workshop. Cancellations made less than 10 business days in advance will result in a 50% refund. Unfortunately, no refunds can be given on the day of the workshop. BMoCA reserves the right to cancel the workshop due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances.
