A Mindful Broward community action for people and planet and student volunteer opportunity. Community Partnership and Student / Employee Volunteering Opportunity . AHAM Education Inc. (AHAM), organization in consultative status with the United Nations, in partnership with Diversity in Aquatics (DIA), and the SWIMS Foundation, and the Southeast Climate and Energy Network (SCEN), are hosting our Mindful Beach Clean-ups for the sixth year in a row at the historically black beach - Von D. Mizell/Eula Johnson Clark State Park focused on the well-being of people and our natural ecosystems. We will provide various nature-based mindfulness/healing practices to build a deeper sense of interconnection and appreciation among humans with our community and natural ecosystem. South Florida middle and high school students will have the opportunity to practice mindfulness, learn how to integrate into their lives, serve in cleaning up beach, and earn volunteer service hours toward their graduation requirements. Must sign waiver to attend. A media release will also be provided for photos and videos. NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale is thrilled to announce that it is now “Home to Christo and Jeanne-Claude's Surrounded Islands.” The museum will premiere its first exhibition of this transformative gift from the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Foundation in February 2025, which includes over 43 preparatory drawings and collages created by Christo, as well as photographs and photo murals, engineering surveys, environmental studies, permits, correspondence, original components such as sections of the pink fabric, scale models and other archival documents that trace the history of this project.
