How Speed Dating Works in Bristol When you arrive at the Bristol venue you will be greeted by our friendly professional hosts. Once everyone has arrived and registered we will briefly explain the format of the evening. The ladies will then be asked to make their way to their allocated table. Once the ladies are seated the gentlemen will be asked to proceed to their first date. You will have 4 minutes to chat to each date, once the 4 minutes is over we will ring a bell to indicate the time is up and for the gentlemen to move to their next date. Four minutes is long enough to see if you click with the person you are talking to and whether you would like to see them again and also short enough if you don't. At the end of each date you have a brief few moments to make some notes on the person you have just dated. This is something to help jog your memory for the post event matching process the next day. Half way through the event you will have an interval break so you can nip to the toilet or top up your drink. Once all the dates are over you have the opportunity to stay on at the venue to mingle freely with others. Please remember to take your dating card home with you to assist you in entering in your ticks and potential matches. Post Event No later than 11am the following morning our matching system will be unlocked for you to enter your ticks from the previous evening. We have five years to stop nature’s decline. We know the challenge. Together, we can deliver the solutions. Join us on Thursday, 11 September, at the Bristol Beacon for a day to celebrate nature in the UK, and discuss the action we must take together to restore it. Nature brings immense value to our lives, to the economy and to communities. Whether it's protecting communities from flooding and extreme weather, supporting rural areas and food production, helping us tackle climate change, or improving our mental health – nature underpins it all. At our first Wild Summit, we’ll bring together nature lovers, community campaigners, businesses, politicians, officials, and policy experts for a day of presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and conversations focused on the critical importance of investing in nature. We’ll celebrate the incredible work being done by charities, community groups, innovators, and land managers, as well as exploring the vital roles of tourism, research, upskilling, and corporate and government projects in restoring our natural world. The goal? To help the UK halt and reverse nature's decline by 2030. Why now? The UK has signed an ambitious global agreement to halt and reverse the decline of nature by the end of this decade. However, with just five years left until the deadline, nature is still facing rapid decline. At the Wild Summit, we’ll demonstrate the vital role nature plays in daily lives and the urgent need for large-scale investment and action. What is the Wild Summit all about? The Wild Summit is about coming together to make real change happen. It’s a day for sharing knowledge, forging partnerships, and inspiring action. It’s about celebrating what’s already working, while also asking: how can we do more and do better? Together, we can restore Britain’s natural heritage and safeguard it for generations to come. What can you expect on the day? With over 100 speakers and over 30 sessions, our inaugural Wild Summit will offer an extensive range of keynote presentations, partner events, panel discussions and practical workshops on everything from nature friendly farming to freshwater, planning policy to natural capital. We will be joined by partners and speakers from major environmental groups, including the RSPB, National Trust, WWF UK, Marine Conservation Society and many more as well as celebrities and experts in the fields of planning, landscape restoration, water policy, access to nature, agriculture and biodiversity for a packed main stage programme. Schedule for the day 8:30 - 9:30am - Registration, breakfast and networking 9:30am - 4:30pm - presentations, panels, workshops, networking and much more These sessions will include our main stage programme and our partner event programme which will feature sessions from organisations including: RSPB UK Rewilding Britain The Rivers Trust British Trust for Orithology Marine Conservation Society Butterfly Conservation The Western Forest Wild Justice 5:30 - 7:30pm - evening reception open to all ticket holders.
