This concert is a celebration of Black Canadian composers and storytellers, weaving together music and personal narratives from across the Afro-Caribbean diaspora. Featuring works by Canadian composers Nathaniel Dett, Katheryn Patricia Cobbler, and myself, alongside historical music by Black composers, Joseph Bologne, Ignatius Sancho, William Grant Still, Florence Price, and Leslie Adams, the evening explores Black musical traditions across history.
