COOKIES & CREAM COMEDY - THE MILL HOTEL (Brisbane) - March 1st 7pm | Madison Tower Mill Hotel
Mar 1, 2025 (UTC+10)
Mill
Welcome to Cookies and Cream Comedy! Just like your favourite cookie and ice cream combo, our show is a perfect treat for anyone craving a laugh. We're serving up a truly unique line up that blends diverse perspectives from the far corners of life’s spectrum into one unforgettable night. Meet our headliners Liam Daley; an eccentric (possibly neurodivergent) comedian with a unique observational perspective. Liam’s unapologetically candid humour, witty punch lines and down-to-earth charm brings a fresh and insightful spin to everyday life. Next up, we have Sahib Rana; a boldly hilarious comedian who has travelled all over the world from UK, Kenya, Canada & his next Uber Eats delivery. Sahib’s tales of navigating race, culture and dreams of still becoming a professional cricketer will have you bowling over with laughter. And rounding out the evening is Chemark Rehder; the suave, smooth-talking librarian with jokes as well written as the books he curates. Chemark’s tales of debonair escapades, being mixed race & growing up in Ipswich promise a delightful mix of sophistication and silliness. Join us for an evening where cultural diversity and personal quirks blend seamlessly into a comedy showcase that’s as delightful and surprising as a cookies-and-cream ice cream sandwich. Cookies and Cream Comedy is where laughter knows no boundaries and every story is a sweet treat. Grab your tickets, bring your friends, and prepare for a show that's as diverse and delightful as the comedians themselves!

Wall Art - Masking Tape Masterclass for Neurodivergent Adults | Leigh Spinners Mill
Mar 14, 2025 (UTC+0)
Mill
Reet Good Wood CIC is a creative space specifically for Neurodivergent adults who have had a late diagnosis, are waiting for a diagnosis, or are not seeking one but identify as being neurodivergent. For people who have 'managed' to get through life without any kind of support - this space is for you. Unfortunately we do not meet criteria for formal support but being around other likeminded people is massively important. Ruth, who runs Reet Good Wood CIC, offers this workshop at her studio on Floor 5 of Spinners Mill in Leigh Ruth says... Being Neurodivergent has many challenges. It can be quite isolating at times and some people often feel misunderstood, like they don’t ’fit in’ and can struggle to thrive in a world suited to neurotypical people. I found my calm in the chaos that goes on in my brain as a neurodivergent adult by Upcycling wooden furniture, and I specialise in geometric patterns . Painting gave me an outlet and massively improved my mental health and emotional wellbeing. So, I thought, why not share it with other Neurodivergent adults!? There is very little support out there when you're waiting for a diagnosis and very little afterwards, and although some people might not need it, for others being around other neurodivergent people can help massively. It can give a sense of belonging, provide a safe space to be your authentic self, in a space where you don’t have to worry about being judged or mistreated. In this session you get to have a go at an activity we feel is really beneficial to our health. You will be provided with a wooden blank shape, paint, brushes, tape and all the materials and guidance you need to create your very own piece of art. By offering this session in the evening, it means the building is quiet, and we can create more bespoke working and teaching experiences. We're asking for a £15 ticket contribution to cover the operational costs and materials. This workshop is for adults of any gender identity, who consider themselves to be neurodivergent. You do need to be able to work independently as you will be expected to be able to work unsupervised at times, to keep yourself safe and to be able to do your painting. Group size is limited to 10 places. Demand for these sessions is quite high so if you can not make it please cancel your booking in advance to allow other people to book. If you want a video or any more information about the workshop space, or want to visit first - that can be arranged. Refreshments and great company all included.
These sessions are located in a workshop environment so please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty / paint on. Please arrive on time to start at 6:30pm.
