Run to Remember 11km Please come and join us to help honour our heroes, those that laid down their lives int he service of their communities in British Columbia. This run is the last 11km of a 133km run completed by serving Law Enforcement members to honour and remember those that have fallen. Every kilometre that is run is in memory of a fallen law enforcement member. This run is completed at a 6:30 min / km pace and is run together with Police escorts. A commemorative t-shirt is included with registration. This t-shirt is to be worn during the run. All proceeds after costs go to the BC Law Enforcement Memorial. Join the Royal Oak Ruck 22 March, a meaningful event dedicated to supporting veterans in need. This unique march offers participants the opportunity to march, run, or walk a 2.2-mile course while carrying 22 pounds or 22 items of non-perishable food or personal items. What is a Ruck March, you may ask? It involves briskly walking with a weighted backpack, imitating the Armed Forces' training routine. In this case, we invite you to carry the symbolic weight of 22 pounds or items to honor the 22 veterans who tragically take their lives every day in the United States. The Royal Oak Ruck 22 March aims to shed light on the challenges faced by veterans and their families, while also providing tangible support. All the personal items and food collected during the event will be donated to the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154, who use them to assist veterans and their families. Additionally, all funds raised will be donated to local organizations dedicated to supporting veterans in need. The event will take place at Centennial Commons in Royal Oak on November 4, 2023. Admission is $22 for adults, while active and retired military personnel as well as children can attend for free.
