Carolin Trunk zeigt in ihrer fünften Einzelausstellung neue Bilder, in denen die malerische Auseinandersetzung in der Frage nach dem Zu- und Übereinanderstellen von grafisch anmutenden Elementen und flächig ausgeführter Malerei im Vordergrund steht. More than 40 museums and exhibition halls in Frankfurt and Offenbach present their specialties at an unconventional time. Due to its success in recent years, Museum Night now occupies an important place in Frankfurt's cultural calendar. From 19:00 to 2:00 the following morning, the public is invited to take part in a cultural journey - with music, readings, performances, theatre, workshops, video installations and parties. Special guided tours, current exhibitions and culinary specialties enrich the event.

Rachel von Morgenstern works on translucent polyester canvases, which are themselves stretched on heavy stretcher frames. With preferably vivid colors and hues of acrylic paint von Morgenstern develops intriguing arrangements of color and spatiality, transparency and opacity in gentle and dynamic gestures. Her compositions oftentimes appear light and elegant yet determined in the way elements such as gestural brushstrokes or abstract undefined shapes are placed and color nuances chosen. Her painterly pictorial settings brilliantly evoke the suspenseful ambiguity of painting between its very material surface and illusion of pictorial space.

Als Rehberger 1994 zum ersten Mal in der Galerie Bärbel Grässlin seine Arbeiten ausstellte, stand man ziemlich ratlos da. Er zeigte Kopien von Bildern seines Vaters, eines Sonntagsmalers, die in einem Maßstab von 1:4 vergrößert waren. Genauso ratlos stand man auch vor den anschließenden Ausstellungen wie der mit dem Titel “Fragments of their pleasant space” (in my fashionable version), die zwei Jahre später ebenfalls in der Galerie Grässlin stattfand. Rehberger fertigte nach den Wünschen seiner Freunde fünf “gemütliche Ecken” an; eine braune Liege, neben der ein Fernseher stand und farbige Abstelltische, zwei leuchtend gelbe Sessel, in Form eines Sackes, die in den 60er Jahren “modern” waren, über denen in zwei Kugeln Monitore hingen, einen dreieckigen Tisch aus Plastik mit drei blauen Hockern… Jeder “Ecke” war ein Titel zugeordnet. So nannte Rehberger die zwei gelben Sessel “no need to fight about the channel, together leant back”. Das Design der Möbel wirkte unzeitgemäß, nostalgisch. Man fühlte sich in die 60er Jahre versetzt, als das Leben noch fröhlich, bunt und optimistisch war, als man noch daran glaubte, auch den Alltag in eine Vergnügungswiese, in ein aus Spaß und Freude bestehendes Unternehmen verwandeln zu können.
