ABOUT THE EVENT
Norfolk Director, along with its sister publications, Suffolk Director and Essex Director, are part of the UK Director magazines portfolio which all have one very simple aim, to help you run your business better.
Titled ‘What If?’ and focussing on business continuity, planning and strategy, this event is only open to sole traders, directors, entrepreneurs, partners, owners and senior decision-makers of businesses from all market sectors.
As well as providing opportunities to network with other business leaders, attendees will be positively encouraged to question the keynote speakers and the panel of experts; all with a focus on sharing knowledge and experience and stimulating a healthy discussion around the real issues linked to running a business.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
The event is divided into two sections interspersed with opportunities to network:
8.00am:
Arrival and registration at The Forum, where delegates will gather for coffee, tea and pastries.
8.30am:
Taking place in the Auditorium, part one will be presentations by keynote speakers,
Dave Courteen,
Co-Founder and
Managing Director at Riverhills Spa & Health Club, and
Chris Spinks
, Managing Director at Westcotec. They will talk candidly about the highs, lows and challenges they have experienced getting where they are today, as well as sharing some tips to ensure business success. There will be opportunities for attendees to ask questions after their presentations.
9.45am:
Break for networking and refreshments in the Foyer Area.
10.20am:
Back in the Lecture Theatre for part two, the Q&A session. Presented in a similar format to ‘Question Time’, this will be an opportunity to discuss and put questions to a panel comprising of business leaders who are at the 'coal face' of running their own organisations, and experts representing professional services in the county. Chaired by Editor in Chief, Sue Wilcock, all the panel members are currently working with local businesses and bring a wealth of ‘real’ experience and knowledge that they are happy to share. Please note this part of the event will be a closed session and take place under the ‘Chatham House Rule’, which allows anyone to use the information discussed but without revealing who made any particular comment.

OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Dave Courteen, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Mosaic Spa & Health Clubs
Dave is an entrepreneur with over 25 years’ experience of operating health clubs and day spas in the hospitality industry throughout the country.
Having set up Mosaic straight out of college with just three staff, he describes his journey over the last 30 plus years as both challenging and amazing. During that time, he has been involved with every role in the business, from working on the gym floor through to producing the accounts.
Today, his focus is on the overall business strategy, new business development and working with the teams to deliver the best possible member and guest experience.
In his presentation, Dave will talk about how he and his team have managed the many challenges that have come their way, which all individually could have had serious implications to the business’s day to day operations.
Chris Spinks, Managing Director at Westcotec
Chris Spinks is the Managing Director of Westcotec, a Norfolk-based employee company specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of intelligent traffic safety and smart city equipment. Before joining Westcotec, Chris served for 30 years in Norfolk and Suffolk Police, retiring in December 2015 as a Chief Inspector and Head of Roads Policing and Firearms Operations for both counties.
In January 2016, Chris joined the Sales Team at Westcotec before becoming the Managing Director in December 2018, following the retirement of the founder. He played a pivotal role in transitioning the company to employee ownership under an Employee Ownership Trust which was completed in December 2018. Under his leadership, Westcotec has expanded its reach both nationally and internationally, offering a range of intelligent traffic safety solutions, including speed and warning signs, flood warning systems, bridge height warnings, and collision avoidance systems.
