Men’s Ring, Yves Gastou Collection | Dubai
Exhibitions
L'ÉCOLE Jewelery Arts Institute Asia-Pacific Branch brings together the precious and extraordinary personal collection of the late famous French art dealer Yves Gastou, witnessing his 40-year journey of tirelessly searching for what he wanted with his extraordinary passion. More than 300 rings form a riddle, containing many beautiful treasures, within reach dreams, intriguing mysteries and unforgettable memories, stirring up countless reveries.
The curatorial concept consists of five themes, namely "Historical Relics", "Gothic Style", "Christian Mysticism", "Void Glitz" and "Multiple Aesthetics". This exhibition covers different regions and eras, from the Venetian Doge’s ring in the 17th century to the American biker ring in the 1970s; from the skull mourning ring to the bishop’s ring. Each of these dazzling collections of men's rings has a story behind it, symbolizing marriage alliance, faith, and power, and nourishing aesthetics and culture.
"Men's Rings: The Legendary Collection of Yves Gastou" pays tribute to this rare and personal family treasure. After being exhibited in Paris and Tokyo, it landed in Hong Kong and became part of the tenth anniversary celebration of L'ÉCOLE School of Jewelry Arts.
