for a cleanup at Big Rock Beach from 11 AM to 1 PM for the 14th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep.
This is a rain or shine event.
Volunteers will meet at Big Rock Beach, 119-6 28th Ave, Flushing, NY 11354, at the dead end of 28th Ave. and 119th Street, near Flushing Bay, at the top of stairs to the waterfront.
We recommend that all Sweep volunteers bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, insect repellent, work gloves and hand sanitizer.
This site is suitable for elementary-aged children with adult supervision.

Volunteers are required to pre-register for Sweep.
Volunteers should not participate if they have ANY signs of illness.
Over the last 13 years, Sweep leaders have completed 1,349 service projects, bringing together thousands of volunteers from NYC to the Adirondacks to clean up 382 tons of debris, and plant or maintain 8,851 native plants.
