2025 TAARBC Pastors' Conference | Heritage Baptist Church

Sep 9, 2025 (UTC-5)
Mansfield Park
Cultural Experiences
The Texas Area Association of Reformed Baptist Churches (TAARBC) is excited to sponsor the 7th Annual TAARBC Pastors’ Conference on September 9-10 , 2025 , at Heritage Baptist Church in Mansfield, Texas. Even though this is a conference geared towards pastors, we welcome all attendees who are interested in the subject at hand. These lectures will no doubt encourage and edify the pastor and layman alike. Our association has determined that the theme for our Pastors’ Conference from year to year will be to cover a chapter in the 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith. Last year, we covered chapter 5 in the confession, "Of Divine Providence". This year, each of the lectures will address chapter 21, "O f Christian Liberty and Liberty of Conscience" . Our featured speakers will be Dr. James Renihan, Dr. J. Ryan Davidson, and Dr. Jason Montgomery . Dr. Renihan is the President and Professor of Historical Theology for International Reformed Baptist Seminary. After a ministry of church planting in central Massachusetts, Dr. Renihan and his family moved to Escondido, CA in 1998 to begin serving as Dean of the newly formed Institute of Reformed Baptist Studies. He led that work for 20 years, and when it became IRBS Theological Seminary in 2018, he was appointed the first president. Dr. Renihan has served as pastor in churches in Massachusetts, New York, and California. He is a graduate of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (PhD), Seminary of the East (MDiv), Trinity Ministerial Academy, and Liberty Baptist College (BS). His academic work focused on the Second London Baptist Confession and the broader Puritan theological context from which it arose. Dr. Renihan is the author of numerous books including, For the Vindication of the Truth: Baptist Symbolics Volume 1 (The Founders Press), Faith and Life for Baptists: The Documents of the London Particular Baptist Assemblies, 1689-1694 and To the Judicious & Impartial Reader: Baptist Symbolics Volume 2 (The Founders Press). Dr. Davidson has been serving as the pastor of Grace Baptist Chapel (Hampton, VA) since August of 2008. He has been married to his wife Christie for nearly two decades, and they have four children. Dr. Davidson is a graduate of Samford University (BA), The College of William & Mary (MEd) in Counseling, and Southern Seminary (ThM) in Louisville, KY, and received his PhD in Early Church History/Pastoral Theology from The Free University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. He has contributed to various academic journals and has had the opportunity to teach pastoral theology around the world. He is the author of Green Pastures: A Primer on the Ordinary Means of Grace , Thinking through Anxiety: A Brief Christian Look and Abortion, and Brill Encyclopedia of Early Christianity Online. Dr. Montgomery is one of the pastors at Christ Covenant Church Reformed Baptist (Fort Worth, TX). He has served as pastor for Faith Community Baptist Church (now CCRBC) in Fort Worth since 1998 and has been married to his wife, Janice, since 1990. They have been blessed with seven children. Dr. Montgomery completed his graduate work at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX, receiving his Master of Divinity in 1997. Later, in 2018, he received his PhD in Historical Theology/ Church History with a focus in Baptist studies, focusing his dissertation on eighteenth-century Particular Baptist pastor Benjamin Beddome. Local historian Denis Hill looks at the dozen or so water mills that once operated along the River Maun. From a modest “Kings” mill mentioned in the Domesday book, Mansfield became a “power house” of mills producing cotton products which brought great prosperity to the town. Many of the mill buildings and their water courses still survive, but others have sadly  disappeared for ever. Nevertheless, there are 230 years' worth of paintings and photographs to be viewed as we take a look at the Water Mills of Mansfield. Play makes up 20% of children's primary school life. How do schools plan for this 20%? What are the roles of the play team? How do we develop our best teams? How can playtime support us to foster our school's values in all our children - resilience, courage, tenacity, kindness? How do children get their playthings out and put them away? What are the solutions to foxes and sandpits? See for yourself what an amazing playtime looks like at Berry Hill Primary School. Agenda 8:45am –9a m Arrive 9am –9:30a m Presentation and networking Discuss your journey with other OPAL school colleagues – share your successes, top tips and ways to overcome some of the challenges. 9:30am – 10:30am Observation of playtime Come and see an OPAL playtime in action – ask the children about how they manage risk and the grown-ups about the changes they have seen. About Berry Hill Primary School Berry Hill Primary School has recently received their OPAL Platinum Award, recognizing their exceptional commitment to providing some of the highest quality play opportunities in the country. Berry Hill's site is definitely worth checking out! With no large field, they have thought creatively about how to use their space for more than 400 children. Whether it is making potions in the messy cafe, swinging on rope swings, building sandcastles, tobogganing down the cobble stones in crates, reading in the willow dome, or running the wild parkour course, all children are having fun and are fully engaged in something they have chosen to do. Additional information We will be indoors and outdoors; please come dressed whatever the weather. OPAL schools play outdoors in all weathers. The school will provide tea and coffee. The car park is small, so please park on the street outside. Only two tickets per schools please. If you can no longer come, please let us know so we can release your place to another school.
