Join us at the MIAH Gallery on Saturday 31st May, from 9:30am to 1:00pm, for a creative and immersive workshop focused on the elegant tradition of Rumi motifs—a distinctive feature of Islamic art known for its flowing curves, spirals, and circular patterns. These decorative elements, often seen in manuscript illumination, tilework, and architectural details, reflect both mathematical precision and artistic expression. During the session, you will be guided step by step in constructing and painting a variety of these timeless motifs, using traditional techniques and geometric principles that underpin Islamic ornamentation. Whether you're new to Islamic art or looking to deepen your practice, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to engage with its rich visual language in a relaxed and supportive setting. Tickets: Standard Workshop Fee: £25, including Eventbrite fees. Suitable for ages 18+; all materials will be provided; no prior experience is necessary.
Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended to secure your place. This workshop is part of MIAH Foundation's Eid Fest & Bazaar based on our ongoing exhibition, Fabric of Faith: The Arts and Textiles of the Hajj, further information can be found HERE.
