New York’s Slambovian Circus of Dreams has been coloring ‘outside the lines’ of the Americana genre with their fantastic stories and performances since forming 20 years ago in the Hudson Valley of New York. You are invited to the Quantum Materials and Processes science theme Town Hall event, which is part of the community building of RUEDI, a new ultrafast electron diffraction and imaging facility for the UK. This event will be held on Wednesday 9th July at Crewe Hall. The event will be hosted by Dr Will Bryan (Swansea University), the RUEDI Quantum Materials and Processes science theme lead, and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the design, development and most importantly the execution of novel imaging experiments. RUEDI, funded by the EPSRC as part of the UKRI Infrastructure Funds, and in partnership with the University of Liverpool, the Rosalind Franklin Institute, and STFC Daresbury, will be the world’s first facility of its kind. Guest speakers include Dr Marcus Newton, University of Southampton, Dr Khalid Siddiqui, SLAC and Dr Jess Wade, Imperial College London will give perspectives on the current state and future of quantum materials and technologies, their imaging on ultrafast timescales, and will allow participants to explore critical quantum materials challenges. This event will be hosted by Dr Will Bryan and Professor Nigel Browning (Director of RUEDI, University of Liverpool), and is organised to run consecutively with the Dynamics of Chemical Change science theme Town Hall event, on 10th July at the same venue. We believe passionately in the power of collaboration over competition, working for yourself can be lonely and overwhelming, Kinship Gatherings: the studio sessions aims to provide a supportive regular opportunity for creatives to come together to support each other. Led by Kay of Kinship Creative Design Consultancy, these two hour sessions will be kept small, ensuring that everyone has time to talk through anything on their mind and seek the advice of fellow attendees.
