The new CCDET offering, called CCDET I: Clean Truck Check, offers live classroom instruction and has the added benefit of including hands-on instruction in operating both OBD devices and smoke meters, which are not offered in the free CARB online course. This important event is part of a two-town-hall series focused on gathering feedback from residents, advocates, and stakeholders on the progress made since the release of the 2023 Transition Plan. Your voice will directly help shape the future of public safety in Alameda County. During the town hall, attendees will: Learn about the goals of the 2023 Transition Plan Hear updates on key focus areas: Community Engagement, Custody, Accountability, Reentry & Rehabilitation, and Racial Justice Participate in an interactive gallery walk with digital feedback boards Share experiences, concerns, or observations during an open community forum Provide input that will directly inform the Sheriff's Office Strategic Plan and its long-term priorities Language support, including live interpretation, is available. If interpretation or language assistance is needed during the event, please indicate your preferred language on the registration form. The deadline to request language support is M ay 5, 2025. Refreshments will be served. This is a space for honest dialogue, active listening, and collective progress.
