Welcome to the 2nd annual Black Canyon Shuttle Extravaganza! This exciting event offers a unique blend of camping, breakfast, mountain biking, music, and, of course, Pizzicletta! Hosted in the beautiful city of New River, the extravaganza takes place from January 19th to January 21st, 2024. The adventure begins on Friday afternoon at the Table Mesa Road Trailhead, where participants gather to set up camp. On Saturday morning, after a restful night's sleep, a delicious breakfast will be provided before loading up the shuttles to the Big Bug Trailhead. Along the 50-mile Black Canyon Trail, a halfway point tent awaits riders, stocked with snacks and refreshing drinks. As participants complete the thrilling route, they will be rewarded with mouthwatering pizza courtesy of Pizzicletta. To add to the ambiance, live music and a cozy campfire setting will create the perfect atmosphere for relaxation and camaraderie. Sunday is a day for final farewells and departure. For those who wish to give back to the trail, the Black Canyon Trail Coalition invites volunteers to participate in light trail work on Sunday. Explore the rich history of the Tidbinbilla Range at the Heritage On Wheels event in Paddys River. Join rangers for a 12km return ride to the historic Nil Desperandum homestead from Greens Picnic Area. The journey will take you through the stunning surrounds of Nil Desperandum, offering a unique experience on two wheels. Prepare for a moderately difficult and hilly ride suitable for ages 12 and over. Take a break at the homestead for a guided walk delving into the area's heritage before embarking on the mostly downhill return trip. Remember to bring your mountain/off-road bike, spare tubes/repair kit, Australian standard helmet, water, sun protection, and a snack for morning tea. Admission to the event is free, but please note that Tidbinbilla entry fees apply. Join us from November 5th - 29th for Turbulence: Can the Center Hold? a solo exhibition by Stacy Latt Savage Savage, a Professor of Art and Design in Sculpture at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Savage’s sculptures are reflections of our turbulent times and a sense of global unrest. We live in a time when the delicate balance of life seems threatened by forces beyond our control. Her recent work in this exhibition is a response to the pandemic and our life post this global event. While each of Savage’s sculptures embody a visceral tension and spiraling momentum, Savage aims to find the sublime within fear and chaos. She forms and shapes raw material until her sculpture harnesses an energy that mirrors the unpredictability of life. Savage received her MFA from Cornell University and her BA from Wells College. She exhibits her work nationally and regionally in a variety of venues including museums, galleries, and public outdoor settings. Savage maintains a commitment to collaboration and her community which have led to numerous public commissions as well as curatorial and community-engaged projects. Appearing on the Friday the 27th TRP Spindle City Rumble Rise and Fall Last year we debuted the Women's Spindle City Rumble This year we see the return of the Women's Spindle City Rumble as well as the Return of the 2 Ring Spindle City Rumble but with a Twist Rise and Fall will feature two Rings of different Heights, where wrestlers will compete and be able to Rise and Fall between both rings. This years Spindle City Rumble will feature 40 Male Wrestlers and This years Women's Spindle City Rumble will feature 10 Women. Other Non Rumble Matches will be annouced as well.
