Medieval Music, in Leicester's Oldest Church | St Nicholas Church
Concerts
Classical
'Love, Devotion and Harmonious Melodies,' is a journey through medieval music from the 12th to the 14th Century, featuring a variety of historical musical instruments, such as Hurdy Gurdy, Citole, Organistrum, Symphonie, Portative Organ, Bladder Pipe, Gothic Harp, and Percussion.
This event is held in St Nicholas Church. Dating back to the 800's, St Nicholas is built almost entirely of repurposed Roman rubble and is a remarkable survival of pre-conquest architecture, being the oldest church in Leicester, and one of the 10 oldest in the UK.
Join us for a wonderful evening of music, and step back in time.
To help complete your evening alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase in the church during the event, and all money spent will go to support the church.
Though the money you spend on tickets goes to support St Nicholas Church and keep this ancient building open and alive, we don't want anyone to be priced out of good art, so there is no 'proof' required for you to purchase a concession ticket. If you can't afford to pay full price, for whatever reason, that ticket is for you!
Tickets will also be available to purchase on the doors.
Children under 12 go free.
Best parking for this event is at the Highcross John Lewis, which is just £2.50 after 5pm.
