Fashion Design Cultural Experiences
Using solar systems with energy storage is an obvious major step to radically reducing energy use in, and greenhouse gas emissions from buildings. Clients now demand it and regulations promote it's use. For architects it is important to understand how to design and detail solar systems well to ensure they both look good and perform well. This half day event is held on the anniversary of the launch of Britain's first integrated PV roof thirty years ago on the nearby Oxford Ecohouse. It aims to provide architects and builders with an opportunity to keep up-to-date with thinking and practice in solar design. Set against a short history of the use of the technologies on buildings by pioneering designers, attendees will gain insights into how to integrate solar technologies interestingly, elegantly and efficiently into buildings with perspectives from practice from Charlie Luxton and Alex Michaelis. A view on how solar systems might evolve in the future in a heating climate also comes with Ricardo Ruther, from Brazil. Information Source: Ecohouse Initiative | eventbrite

Christmas Celebration
Wolvercote Craft Fair is a friendly community event that's been running for over 30 years with 40+ stalls of crafts and local produce, plus refreshments and entertainment. IMPORTANT INFORMATION, PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING 1) Booking by inviation only Before you book here, your stall needs to be approved by us. If you've recevied an email invitation to book from us, you're already approved and can go ahead and book. If you haven't received an invitiation, please email us on wolvercoteschoolpta@gmail.com with detals of what you sell.To keep the fair varied we restrict bookings to a set number of stalls per craft type, and only have a limited number of slots for franchises. If you book without an invitation or confirmation, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and refund you if we're not able to accommodate you, so please do check first. 2) Limitations of school location The fair takes place in a school, and stalls are situated in classrooms and corridors. The school hall is used for refreshments and entertainment. We do our best to keep pitch allocations fair and rotate returning stallholders, and we use signage to ensure visitors explore the whole fair, but the nature of the venue means some stalls will be further away from the central hall than others. Stalls are allocated according to space restrictions and spacing out similar stalls. We can't guarantee a particular location. You can see some photos from previous fairs here - https://wolvercotecraftfair.wordpress.com/ 3) We require stallholders to hold public liability insurance This applies to all stallholders who sell at 10 or more events a year or have a trading name, website or Facebook page for their business. If this applies to you, you need PL insurance. If you think you don't fall into this category, please contact us to check. We will ask to see insurance certificates before the event. 4) We require all toys on sale to be UKCA marked (formerly the CE mark) This includes handmade toys and amateur makers. We make spot checks on the day and will ask you to remove un-UKCA marked toys from sale. Please email if you would like more information. 5) All electrical equipment plugged in at the venue must be PAT tested Certificates should be available for inspection at the event. The fair is entirely run by volunteers and proceeds go to support the work of Wolvercote Primary School's PTA, registered charity number 1074566.
