A selection of approximately 40 paintings, prints, and drawings from the BMA’s collection explores the role of water and landscape in defining the early modern Dutch Republic. The water’s edge was a site of rich and often fraught ideas, where environmental, economic, political, and social narratives came to the fore. It also served as a site of immense inspiration for Dutch artists such as Frans Hals, Rembrandt van Rijn, Jacob van Ruisdael, and Salomon Van Ruysdael, among many others. Landscapes depicting harbors, trade, travel, and leisure abounded, as did the production of maps, still lifes, and portraits. This $65 all-inclusive trip departs from Philadelphia on Tuesday, July 1st and includes round-trip transportation, a guided campus tour, an admissions presentation, on-campus lunch, and a dynamic college prep session covering the application process, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities. The DMV Photography Workshops introduces " T he Digital Darkroom Club ! " The goal in these monthly meetings is share and learn more about Photoshop even if you use either Lightroom or CaptureOne in your workflow. So on the first Tuesday of the month we will be introducing folks to Photoshop and doing creative dives based on the participants needs as well. These Zoom conference where we will be starting at the basics and then going deeper and deeper into CpatureOne, Photoshop, etc to help get more out of that image you captured.(A dual monitor setup would be ideal.) And if you do not have Adobe Photoshop, but was always thinking you need to get into it, check out their Photography Plans here ! In this digital world of photography, there is so much you can do with that RAW file, it's packed with information. So we will explore some classic approaches to the darkroom to help you bring out what you want in the image. Some of the topics we will be covering will include: Understanding the pixels, digital color Adjustment layers/Masking Curves and Levels Facial retouching Frequency separation/Skin Retouching Dodging and burning Composites, background replacement AI Tools Participants can come in and discuss what they are having trouble with, or simply come to learn new techniques, or share what they are doing and learned. With any good software there are many ways to get to the same result. But be very aware what you are doing to the pixels, what looks good on your phone or on social media may not translate well in a print, especially a 30 x 40. If you shoot people, places, or things come join us because taking the shot is just a step in the process! Then follow along as we create and discover so many wonderful things in Photoshop. Zombie Scavengers plunges participants into a high-stakes, app-powered scavenger hunt, transforming familiar Baltimore city streets into a virtual, thrilling, post-apocalyptic battleground. Each workshop attendee will get a glass vessel and then choose between a variety of air plants to arrange with! No experience necessary.
